Well shit... I love it.
I was just coming to post that, really sick, probably the only interesting Kinect video I've seen from the plethora of crap people have created.
I want to see the backside of those sculptures.
seeing as its based on what kinect sees, kinect cant see your back side so I imagine there is nothing there
Perhaps a flat solid wall for a back, or perhaps no wall so you can see the inner shell of the other side (it's supposedly hollow)... we'll never know! Unless you do this on SMP and have someone go look behind the giant kitty terrorizing everyone on the server.
This could be promising, from a development point of view, if Notch were to video capture some more complex things and include them in the game. e.g. instead of a 1x2 block that moves around with a creeper/skeleton/zombie skin, it can be a giant complex beast made up of pre-recorded actions. e.g. that cat can have an idle animation, running animation, pouncing animation, all ready to go and included in the game.
HALP! I got Minecraft a week ago and my save file got corrupted somehow. I was running around and the game froze and crashed. Whenever I try to load my save it gets to "Loading Terrain" and crashes again. Am I completely fucked or is there a way to recover my save?
level.dat should be your world and level.dat_old should be the last time it was saved. You could pull out both of those files, reinstall, and put them back in. If it crashes still, try replacing level.dat with the old one. (with the backing-up of everything, obviously).
I think. Don't quote me on this.
I completely ripped the level.dat files from an older save I had and I'm STILL crashing. on "Building Terrain" Dunno if the bug report will help at all:

Okay so I got this cool high-res texture pack and I thought I would share.
Some pics of the BG server.
Spoiler: show
I am going to post a short video of my world in a little bit.
Been playing with a few mods myself, along with textures, and I've been enjoying the "better light" part of MrMMod's "better light/grass" mod.
It basically smooths out the lighting so that you don't get distinct squares of differently-illuminated blocks, something that really sticks out in some of those pictures. Instead of looking at a wall and seeing a checkerboard of different light levels, you see one smooth transition. The only downside is it doesn't appear to smooth it out over water, but everything else benefits from much gentler lighting effects.
If you decide to use it, the patcher gives you options for better light, better grass, SMChat and SimpleMap. SMChat and SimpleMap seem pretty pointless to me (there's much better maps out there) so just leave those unchecked, but Better Light and Better Grass are what make it worth it.
I love you for posting that. This shit looks about 9001 times better.
(also, peeks at my mountain house and squid hunting grounds, I'll have to take all new screenshots of a walkthrough my domain now)

I kinda' wish the effect was toned down a bit in daylight, it makes the deserts so contrast-y with all the unnecessary shading.
I would use it but even with the default textures it lags my game SO HARD I DUNNO WHY.
Because it's basically bouncing the light more, it's very CPU intensive.
The pictures look amazing though...really makes the game look awesome, more so than the texture packs which I think look retarded.
Yeah, I'm not really a fan of 99% of the texture packs I've found. The only textures I want to replace are glass (something with less obscuring shit on it) and glowstone (something closer to maybe a pale gold block). The best pack, hands down, is the Painterly customizer. (which has been fully updated with all of the new materials) http://painterlypack.net/customizer.php I just wish there was a "keep original" option for everything. so I could just replace a couple things. I do kinda' like the darker colored wood planks of the Painterly set, but the matching items like doors and chests are way too gaudy.
The skeleton animals are pretty damn good, but I have a hard time not keeping things completely OG.
(my docks and boat house)

I figured out why it was lagging.
I set the textures to 64x64 but was still on the default graphics of 16x16 so it was working so hard to do nothing extra.
Put it back to 16x16 and it was fine but I have the new texture pack in it so it should be fine and ill try that lighting thing tomorrow, gogo work in 5 hours :D
Got my mob spawner to work! 550 items an hour but pretty good since I'm just AFK'ing overnight.
If you want I can post the plans for it and you guys can build it. Takes about 3 full chests of cobblestone and about 4-5 hours and its built :D
Sure, why not lol. I'm currently building a castle in SSP so creepers stop blowing up the front of my log house. I tease the skeles and spiders, and they go "Yo, Creeper, do something 'bout this!" and next thing I know, the front of my house is missing ; ;
Haven't played in a while, when did they add charcoal? seems almost like easy mode.
