Still the damage has been done we need a server wipe.
Also did they patch the repair bug?
Also my progress so far...

I would be farther but I spent a good amount of time making a automated cactus farm so I can build a fence and my base to store stuff to the far left which also includes(off screen behind it) tracks going from there to my base at my spawn point because dying to the random creeper ambush sucks when you got to run back.
Also I love this texture pack, the sun/moon are just amazing as is all the other blocks.

How do you build a fence with cacti exactly, diagonally?
Simple.
Think 2 rows of a checkerboard but only use the black squares.
Thats all I did.
I was going to make a wall but didn't feel like making it spider proof so cactus works better since they can't climb it.
Oh one last thing, the guy who made the 17k item grinder posted a video.
k so I've been having issues with my friends minecraft server, not sure if it happens to BG server as well but..

does anyone experience shit like this on BG server? huge random chunks missing that you have to relog in for them to reappear..? its kinda annoying when the game decides its not going to load half the world you are trying to get to.
Yeah, common problem right now... best thing to do is just exit and reload, usually fills the area back in.
Read of that before. Apparently one way to force it to resend the chunk to you is to place a torch on a tile right beside the chunk, and then remove it.
Have not experienced that yet.
I've experienced that on single-player a few times after generating a lot of new map. I used it to pin-point the direction my mine should expand. :3
I've had the minecraft itch again lately, and I've been trying to think of something that would take time to build. But my imagination is not so creative lately, I can't think of anything <_<
My recent itch was to build realistic, modern structures. I'm tired of the castle-ish, dungeon-ish, log cabin-ish, etc. stuff. It's quite a challenge trying to line shit up and wrap your head around your unplanned structures while being restricted to the 1st-person view.
I think my next project is going to be slowly recreating this

that doesnt seem like it'd take THAT long unless you were planning on making the floors out of brick lol
edit: well I guess you'd have to scale it up because the walls can't be that thin and they'd have to be 1 brick...
I really hope they add some various gates/doors eventually. a 2x3 door or a 3x4 gate would be awesome
Well, I was going to start with the castle...

Not to mention I'm scaling it up to each grid being 5x5 blocks.
edit: I'm done with like 1/3 of that blue foyer... jesus christ this is goddamn massive at 5x5.
That would be pretty impressive sir, pretty impressive indeed. Love the idea.
The isometric view is fucking me up. I already have to move that wall in closer since the stuff hiding behind walls doesn't actually exist.

There, it's getting better.

Wish I had the patience to farm dye mats, wouldn't mind taking my own stab at that design.
Perhaps I'll do it on the BG server, not been on there in awhile. Only thing I fear is that later patches will not be compatible with older map data as a new file saving structure is in the works.
If I was going to do something on that scale, I think I'd rather do U7, heh. It might be a bit more work, though, since it involves multiple floors. You wouldn't have to do the hidden-in-mountains trick, though.
I debated between 6 and 7... 6 just seemed to have a more simple grid to go by (slightly more nostalgic for me as well), but now that I'm getting to the actual rooms and wall intersections, it's getting pretty stupid regarding how the one-square-thick walls and isometric view come to fuck things up when in 3D. I'm just hoping this castle is only massive because it's a castle and that if I end up doing the rest of Britannia, that the smaller houses will look appropriately small. I probably should have planned it out a little more before hand instead of jumping into it.
I wanted to use odd numbers so doors would line up nicely on each square but 3x3 was too small to allow for any decent details like the lion statues, the fountains, sconces, chairs, beds, etc... 5x5, however, is looking like it may have been a tad too large.
Also, I'm using INVEdit for materials. It would be nearly impossible to do otherwise. All of that blue tile is blocks of Lapis Lazuli, not to mention the sheer amount of tools I have gone through while leveling the terrain.
Your castle looks pretty ;o Been thinking about what I wanna work on after I finish building my GTFO Spiders Wall around my house. Finished my 30x80 Mob Spawner/Killer. That was painfully boring......
