I found out that yes, spiders can climb cacti but they will get hurt in the process so it isn't spiderproof without that much needed overhang.

Ya, I played on Easy/Normal for the first time in a long time. Built a small wall around my house. Was I shocked when they climbed over the fence. Now I have like a 15+ block tall wall w/ over-hang. Stupid spiders.
Well this is my updated landscape that I'm currently clearing out. I know it doesn't look like much got done but if you look in the far right corner along the wall its a 9x9 mineshaft to bedrock which took me a while to do.
I am finding it is easier to break it up into sections and work on it then it is to clear 1 layer at a time from the 144x144 grid so I will prolly make a ton of these 9x9 mineshafts to bedrock. The only problem is that I need to make 256 of them to fill up 144x144 cut out. :/
I am however still working on my cactus fence and clearing out the landscape. Also if someone wants to know how to make an afk cactus farmer so you can build some fences let me know and I'll help you out.

Killed a guy on my friend's server today by accident, I dug a big shaft like that and he thought it was just a chunk not loading or something and tried to walk on it. lol
This is taking foreverrrr~ and as you can see I'm distracting myself from trying to make sense of the castle itself with building the surrounding lanscape...

Okami HD texture. Pretty damn epic implementation I think.
That is fucking awesome. I am so surprised it took this long for someone to decide to put that together. It might get old after a while, but it looks damn nice.
You're castles looking really good. Not sure what I wanna do next. Someone suggested the Ocean Palace from Chrono Trigger, but there isn't enough decent screenshots to even know where to begin lol
I actually thought of making the zeal kingdom from chrono trigger and having the only way to get onto the island floating in the sky was to shoot yourself out of a cannon made of TNT and obsidian which made you land in a pool 300 yards away on a floating island.
But I have my mob grinder to make first!
Well, been brainstorming some ideas. Suikoden II's castle popped into my head. Then Figaro Castle. Having a hard time finding anything that'll help me map Suikoden II's castle though...
I'm kinda shocked that he hasn't had the idea to port this to PS3/360 yet..
Well it is still in beta...
I don't think anyone on either console would pay $15 for the game as it stands either. There are just higher expectations for that platform even for an 'indie' project.
(that, and he'd have to hire someone competent to program it as Notch obviously can't manage memory well)
The biggest issue is how to handle multiplayer, as the cost of dedicated servers for everyone on XBL/PSN would be prohibitive. Are there any XBL/PSN games out there that feature a persistent world?
I would picture Minecraft more as strictly a peer-to-peer experience for online on a console. You host the server yourself (Multiplayer option within the game), find someone on friends list and hit invite. No master lobby, and nothing saved serverside.
(which is good given Minecraft as it stands can chew up a couple hundred megs over time, not to mention the thousands of files and folders it creates which isn't fun)
That lighting mod is so beautiful, can you share the link to it again?
It's posted like 2-3 pages back just browse and you will find it.
Only slightly off topic here, but can someone please explain to me wtf FortressCraft is? Just saw that it released on Xbox Live Indie Games this week and damn it sure does look like Minecraft.
