The HDMI from laptop not displaying is just the laptop I think. Even if it doesn't, all it means is you have to use DVI-D + that headphone jack to connect to the monitor (unless you are using speakers) both of which should come with the PC parts.

The 'cleanness' is probably your laptop having a lower res than your monitor. In terms of picture HDMI = DVI-D except hdmi carries sound.

One last thing, I decided to opt for a HD 5870 instead of a 470. I shouldn't need to change the mobo for that right? I might CF 2 of them later... the mobo says it's SLI ready, does that count for CF as well or would I be looking for a new mobo if/when I decide to CF?

The technologies aren't the same. You need a Crossfire motherboard.

But as far a single card goes, there won't be a problem?

Not really a computer question but does anyone know when daily limits on debit/credit cards reset? I was only able to order half of my computer and now my card keeps getting declined, it's been over 24 hours which I assumed is when they reset... but no go.

It probably depends on your bank and what type of card it is. Just call the number on the back of the card and you'll be able to find out quickly. They can possibly up the limit or temporarily suspend it also.

Card is really old and the number has been faded out of exsistance lol. Iguess I'll wait til midnight again (20 mins from now) and try again.

Well the card expires this month so I figured that was it, I went to the bank and my card still works but it's withholding all but 50 dollars of what is in my account. Since I didn't get to the bank intime (was using the atm) I'm not sure what is holding my money from me. But for the time being my sister is letting me use her card, yet it's taking forever to process >.>. My card went through in minutes (even though it was the first time ordering from newegg) yet it's been over 24 hours and her card is still "processing" is that normal?

They are probably being more cautious because you're using 2 different people's cards on the same account. Have your sister call teh number on the back of her card and confirm that transaction with the bank. But either way, labor day weekend, nothing will ship until tuesday.

Was going to start bugging her once she woke up, but it seems the card finally went through. I didn't think it'de process this weekend at all, but just got an email saying it went through... so yay. It's just gonna take forever to get from tennessee to california. Anyways thanks for all the help guys, really looking forward to getting this thing up and running

Newegg has a shipping facility in City of Industry, CA. Maybe you'll get lucky and all of it comes from there.

Newegg has been excellent with shipping so far. Only thing that came from TN was the processor which I won't get until Tuesday because of the holiday. Everything else shipped from NJ and I got it the next day.

Well here's to hoping. First shipment was from TN and should be here early next week, hopefully my second shipment gets here before friday so I won't have to wait another weekend for it.

I ordered all my parts on R and was hoping to get the stuff today since City of Industry is around the corner... It seems I'll get em on M ;/

So I got an email today saying my second shipment (was case+gpu) was shipped today. So I went and checked the email yet the email says only the gpu was shipped... The case is still instock so... should I email them and confirm that the case is shipping or what? Is it possible they are shipping the case from a different area and that's why it only lists the gpu?

It is very likely it's coming from somewhere else.

Last build I did on Newegg had everything but case come in on one day, then case the 2nd day. Can't do much without case lol.
