    Monitor/TV suggestions

I've had an Acer 23.5" LCD for almost a year, but I'm sick of the lousy picture quality. Blacks show up as a not-particularly-dark grey, the viewing angle is narrow as hell, and I have a stuck pixel I was never able to get rid of.

I'm looking for something with a much nicer picture, so I guess I'm probably looking for an IPS screen instead of another twisted nematic. The only games I play are FFXI, FreeCell, and Mahjongg, so I don't care about "response time" until it becomes a real issue. Something intended for TV is fine if it's functional as a monitor. I want something at least as big as my current monitor, but there isn't a good place to wall-mount it behind my computer desk so low 30"s is the biggest that seems reasonable. Speaker quality is irrelevant. I don't have any particular price range, though I can't really see myself dropping 4 figures on a computer monitor.

Anyone have some firsthand impressions or expertise on this subject?

I wouldn't dream of spending four figures on a computer monitor either, but how about three figures?

I would get a P2770HD if you can afford it.

    I have the P2770H http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...379&Tpk=p2770h

which is the tuner free- 3ms lower response version of the P2770HD, also it's cheaper. I love mine.

Reviews say it's a twisted nematic with some picture quality issues. I'm willing to go with a TN if it minimizes the weaknesses of the technology, but that one doesn't seem to.

I am very strongly considering this:

Looks like I can get it for under $550. Any red flags?
