Annoying error with Safely Remove Hardware

This error started appearing about a month ago, and I have no clue of what I could do about it. Google didn't help.

It appears twice whenever I right click the icon to remove an usb device, if I click either ok or cancel the menu appears, but the list of devices is empty. I have to eject them right clicking the device in My Computer.

It also appears twice whenever I try to open Devices and Printers, resulting in the content of that window not loading and appearing blank.

It can also appear whenever I plug an USB device.

While it doesn't prevent me from doing anything, it's getting quite annoying. Does anyone have a clue of how to fix it?

I have a 64 bit Windows 7.

It seems very similar and there is a proposed solution, but no feedback on whether or not it worked. Might be worth setting a system restore point beforehand just in case.
