Public speaking and any sociology class. All classes require little to no work, just common sense and a good BSer.

It used to be it's own department, then they got so batshit crazy the linguistics department had to commandeer the entire program.
Lol figures. Upstate really is another world. Hunter College, John Jay college (where I went), and Saint John's university all do. I think Suny Purchase also does as well. That's pretty lame lol. I actually qualified for an Upper level spanish class that didn't have a lab. When I transferred down, think it was a 104 class or something, they had labs. Labs for every 100 level course. I wish there weren't though because I would of loved to take Chinese and something else.

Also, speech classes are a good recommendation as long as it's not a top level course. They tend to be straight forward and easy.

Just take any class that has the no credit option so you never have to go but still get financial aid.

The first sociology and psychology are really easy here. I just noticed today I have enough credits to graduate a year earlier than I realized. I don't want to graduate early, lol.

Take a class for something that you'd find useful or interesting.

In this situation where I needed something and I didn't have any core requirements to choose from I went with the following two options:

-History of the Samurai - A class where I got to read books on Bushido as well as read up on Japanese history. . . something I was interested in but didn't really know a lot about.

-Web Authoring - Taught myself HTML and CSS when I didn't fully know how to do it.

I found both of those to be the most enjoyable classes I took at college because they were things I wanted to take, not things I was forced to take.

If that's the case, talk to the school. Tell them exactly what the issue is involving the Financial Aid. Under those circumstances I imagine you would be eligible for some sort of exception to the credit requirement for the semester. Especially if it was a short time before your classes started. Couldn't hurt to call the financial aid office and just find out. If they didn't tell you beforehand that there was a possibility the class would be canceled or merged they might be inclined to help you out.

Retake a class you've already taken and try to improve your grade. You've already taken it so you shouldn't have to relearn much of the material. If you got a C in a class the first go around try again for a B or an A. Not only does this solve your problem but you can also improve your GPA (because some people still think a high GPA is a sign for something). Worst case scenario is you fail the class but you still have your original grade to fall back on.

Whenever this happened I would always take either a class where you watch movies/TV (film classes, film history, tv and society, etc.) or classes about Ancient Rome/Greece/Egypt because all of that history is REALLY EASY to learn as well as extremely interesting.

Good idea, but not an option at this point. Still have till friday to get something, so gonna go to the office again tomorrow (was fuckin balls to ass yesterday/today). Not an option because can no longer retake a C course w/o filing an appeal. Only D or F now. I could file an appeal, but wouldn't process in time.

This, intro to philosophy is a joke to get an A in pretty much anywhere. Game Theory is a good one, too, if it's offered. Also Mythology.

I'd try looking at the "language culture" courses. I took JA21 (Introduction to Japanese Culture) Saturday mornings and loved it. You don't need to know the language and its mostly a very basic history/etiquette lesson. Obviously assignments will vary between campuses, but we had very easy assignments on the readings and the final project was a 5 minute powerpoint presentation on one aspect of Japanese culture we *didn't* cover in class. I did mine on Bentos, but most people did pop culture ones including, but not limited to: Sailor Moon, J-Pop, History of Nintendo, fashion, etc...

This semester I'm taking JA23 online, which is a view of Japanese culture through anime and manga. First assignment: watch Ranma 1/2 episodes 1-6 and write like a paragraph. Both are 3 units and are transferable :3
