Those values are added to your total at the end of the fight. It's how much skill points you get for your next class rank.

It is a little hard to determine how much skill/proficiency you actually gained per fight since you gain skill during the fight (randomly) for regular or special actions. Is the amount at the end the total amount of skill gained during the fight or is it in addition? It seems that it is an addition to me, but I wasn't motivated to scroll back and add all the skill ups to see if it matched.

What you get at the end is just a total of what you gained during the fight, which is what Hyan said.

If the evil Gaijin rumors are true about surplus, why don't they just go the smarter route and do what someone on this forum suggested by allowing rested exp? Allows casuals to level faster and doesn't visibly gimp the hardcore. Only contradiction I see stopping this is idea is...

WOW DOES IT!!

Except that WoW had EXACTLY this system in beta, and changed it to what their current rested is for release. It used to cut your EXP by 50% after being logged on for a certain amount of time, now it boosts your EXP by 200% based on how long youve been logged off.

So if youre suggesting this system is being forced down our throats for the sake of innovation... its not even that. Simpsons did it.
