A preparatory version update of FINAL FANTASY XI will be performed at the following time.

* This update consists of a version upgrade of the client program. When you press the play button after the time stated below, the version upgrade will begin automatically. Please follow the instructions on the screen.

* The contents of this version update will become available after the version update scheduled in early September is complete. Until then there will be no difference within the game.

Ya a lot of stuff can be found out. Some items will be found as well. We just wont no what they do yet ~_~ It will be "oh that looks good" or "wow that is really bad looking"

Pre-Update files mostly consist of Armor/equipment models and JA/Spell animations. They've done this before with WoTG, and the previous Abyssea Add-Ons. Because we are looking at AFv3 for 20 different jobs, each with 5 pieces, that is 100 pieces per race/gender. 700+ .DAT files alone for Race/Gender AFv3's alone is reason enough to do a pre-update to minimize the file download come update. What surprises me is that it's being done at 2am PST. They usually do it at 12:00am. 2am is too late in the morning to .DAT mine and the only thing that would get me to do it is if the Abyssea page isn't updated with the AFv3 Armor models.

Reason for the later start is because they are including a POL server reboot with this update.

This has always been the case though, given the consideration of PS2 users, so nothing new here.

New anything is always a plus though, especially with FF14 around the corner. I can't complain =)

Look, I don't know what time British Standard Time is compared to the American time zones and Japanese Standard Time. Yeah should be done 20 minutes ago, counting with the +1 hour extension.
