All I can say is win love this update can't wait for the new armor, weapons and trials that will be added. Another step for dnc is nothing but love for creating more finishing moves when fighting with multiple dnc's hopefully it will be the same as the other steps and work the same....

Gift Horse, I'd like you to meet Mouth.
    DW3-4 > DW 1 >>>>>> DW 0

Oh yeah, and you still gain another 5% with suppa.. You can offhand a thf knife and use a real one for mainhand.. blah blah blah... Seriously.. where's the Suck?
Gift scmift. In the end thf is going to endup subbing nin for t1~2 extra traits of DW so this effectively opened up exactly NOTHING for thf while a goddamned healing job that is supposed to be worse than thf at dagger skill in theory has more DD potential and is going to keep getting more. If you cant see why people might be pissed off then that's your own stupidity.
And ive not had to sub sam in years. What mysterious event are you referring to where a thf would have to sub sam?

And lose nothing? More like gain nothing while everyone else is getting buffed which means that as a job thf is going to technically get weaker and weaker.

    rofl at "divine caress"

Hopefully the "enhanced resistance" is "damn near immunity", but even if it isn't I'll probably end up spamming it because of how awesome that name is.

Also, Earthen Armor's description sounds a lot like Schurzen's.

Not so bad.
I don't know how many other scythes are OAT besides Magians. I doubt anyone still uses Bahamut's Zaghnal. I don't know how Magian OA3 weapons work. And I woke up four hours ago so this could all be wrong anyawy.

That said, as a WHM with Auspice who regularly melees with a Goedendag and a NIN/DNC, when OAT procs, one swing is always reserved for Auspice and one is always Samba. If there's no Samba up, I only get the Auspice damage for the first swing.

I would expect all Magian OAT weapons work in a similar fashion with Endark.

I do wear a Brutal and I only just recently picked up Aesir Mantle, but the behavior has been consistent for me.

Damn I kinda hope that was just a mistake of not adding a rank to the end of that DW for thief. Otherwise that's just a whole new level of disappointment.

Wait, are you saying the enspell damage will only proc on the first swing? That would seem odd.

As for OAT weapons, I really just mean the magians yea, but if it doesn't proc on the second hit, then it doesn't body well for those weapons.

Correct. Might be a Magian-only thing, I don't own any other OAT weapons. It would seem that I only get one instance of any given effect per attack round. If I OAT, then I can get two effects, and it's always Auspice on first swing, Samba on second.

It could be that Auspice works like enspell 2's on OaT weapons, because that's exactly what you get with those also. Enspell proc on 1st hit, samba on 2nd.

SE already gave BLU its "native" DWI at 80, don't see how it is gonna be any different for THF. Best update since now for THF was /COR.

Nice to see aspir 2 for BLM, really wasn't expecting it (now I'd like to see drain 2 too). Hopefully Break won't suck, but I really doubt it, gonna be BLM's requiem: never lands on anything you'd want it to.

It seems there's much more stuff being added this time (and this is just half of the stuff), maybe there will be less (or less valuable) gear added.

The difference is, ALL of BLU's traits, those granted through spell sets, are tier 1. The lone exception being Clear Mind, which stacks. The precedent is there for other jobs to get multiple tiers of traits while BLU only gets the first tier.

auspice can only proc on the first hit anyway so you need a rdm to test this. or a nin/rdm or dnc/rdm etc/

From a pure DD standpoint (getting higher damage output period even at the expense of WS frequency), even if Blitzer's Roll acts like Sword Strap, it would be good for all jobs not SAM if the minimum delay decrease is like 10% for "good" totals.

Anyone else think Ballad III will not stack with Refresh I just because it's SE?

If they cap haste otherwise, sure... but outside of 30s fights, how likely/possible is this? Why would people choose *not* to have an extra 10% haste on anything you can melee? IDK, I thought people were aware of just how powerful DNC is, but this thread is making me scratch my head.

Dual Wield at 83... for thief... doesn't sound promising at all. Gain vs Boost sounds like Boost will be a straight +x while Gain increases over time? But it'd be hard to balance this if that's true. Ninja getting more ichis... hope they're good, but I can see them being weakens enemy defense and m. defense or something; especially since SE is pushing some sort of nuking ninja. Dragoon gets another enmity- jump that shares a timer! Great...

Final note: Blitzer's roll definitely sounds like a "sword strap" roll, which will suck >< I honestly hope it's more like Haste Samba and Hasso, but I highly doubt it.
My speculation is that Gain is self-target and Boost is AoE-party. Gain generally sounds more like you are getting something, while Boost sounds like you are giving something. Also the jobs that get them match the self-target/AoE-party type buffs like bar-spells.

A lot of win in this update. I would say break will be amazing, but if i learned anything from past FF games with it in it it won't be useful on anything that matters. If people still did dynamis i would say break mnks but thats about it.

It seems people still don't understand what "suppresses enmity" means. It means that the jump has zero enmity gain. At most it will put you on the hate list. Between suppressed enmity and bonus TP gain I have found Spirit Jump very useful, especially in instances where I am not /SAM. If Soul Jump still carries the hate shedding property of High Jump it will be a much better choice for use. It is very much possible to use High Jump and still keep hate due to enmity gain from the damage dealt, so having suppressed enmity will be quite the boon, especially on double attack procs.

I'm extremly pissed at this update.
Yes, there is a lot of win for a lot of people, but as Nin, which is one of the classes that really need a boost in win potential, there is absolutely nothing.
The new spells are probably gonna be extremely situational debuffs that we won't cast anyways.

Unless the changes to job abilities include something good for yonin/innin (like at least removing this stupid "decrease with time" effect) then I don't see this game being worth played.

On top of this, the +66% boost in refresh/ballad with surely opens up more survivability for combos like mnk/war, and will include more spam power for all Mp based jobs.

So yeah, I'm glad you all get decent/good potential upgrades, but for me, it's like if SE was definitively telling us to get out of their fun party.

The good point in this is it radically disgusts me from playing FFXIV, which is probably the best thing that can happen ever.

Auspice's en-light is calculated similar to RDM's En-spell II. It also follows the same rules. Thus, like En-IIs, it only procs on first swing. The question is whether Endark would use En-I rules or En-II rules.

It would be a sort of double-edged sword if it gave elemental debuffs along with the damage. If you're manaburning in a group using -aga > sleepga method then you wont be able to use some of the -jas unless you have someone /sch for bindga or something. I'd rather the -jas gave some other effect like stun for thunder, para for ice etc. but I doubt we will be that lucky.

Edit: My personal speculation is that the -ja line is just the new name for the pinnacle of AoE elemental damage nukes and nothing more.
