You guys just reminded me that I need to melee on my brd and institute a little rule I made for pts on my mule for a SS. The rule? If my brd outdd's you then you are kicked the fuck out.

Yes i know melee brd is bad; but the mockery i can do when it does outDD a person just amuses me so.

How long does it take to get TP to use that though?

There's a BLM on Lakshmi with the OAT Danda but I dunno if thats random fail or just boredom taken to a higher level. lol

I'd had considered picking it up for my Melee SMN Build >:O! But those trials are bitching and i'm not that bored yet, maybe when i finish my current trials.

Melee BRD is perfectly fine in abyssea. Parazonium+1/Joyeuse using evisceration with proper TP and WS sets outparses plenty of competent DD. Atma/Stalwart's make almost everything irrelevant, BRD's only real disadvantage is having to sing and that's not even that bad if you're using soul voice with blue chests/wild card as you should be.

How does Mordant Rime stack up against Evisc in regular merits/abyssea? I had it unlocked when I used to play, but never melee'd/soloed enough on my BRD to bother parsing the two ws against each other.

No idea, don't take melee BRD seriously enough to unlock a WS for it. It's just not at all bad, engage speed difference alone can put it above a top tier DD that's slacking off.

Mind posting some of those ws sets? Since it's a mule i've not decked out the wsgear to my normal standard(aka i need to get my gimp ass some hect abj) but having something in general to aim for would be nice.

Was trying for blue !!, that was in TP gear. The Howling Fist that came next only did 930 in my weaponskill gear.
