Holy fuck, this thread exploded while I was at work. I should be grateful, though. It's given me something to read -- and out of gratitude, I think I'll respond.

It may make you and your friends feel bad when someone else takes a mob you've been fighting, but if that enemy is yellow, it is fair game. You could have invested years of your life into collecting pop items, what have you, and it wouldn't change the fact that unclaimed enemies are open to everyone. Does it fucking suck? After you've already whittled it down, probably, but is it against the rules? No. It's the same as if you completely wiped and something de-popped, or you were kicked out of an arena.

And before any fucks come saying I'm slobbering all over Thorny's cock, I've never had any interaction with him beyond mild communication on these boards (which mostly consisted of me telling him StevenW was a dipshit). Fair game on yellow by the letter of the game code maybe, but for someone quick to dote on how they value the time of others and do things on their own to save them grief, blatantly ignoring that creed in the presence of strangers for their own benefit seems... well... dickish, among other colorful word choices. People have reason to be wary of help from strangers, be it outright mob/loot theft or deliberate CFH, nor any obligation to respond to outside communication. Doesn't really matter how easy getting another pop may be or how they chose to go about fighting it. It didn't sound like it was pathing back and regenerating, and while struggling, they were still going to try and act on it with the zombie tactics... or whatever. Whole story hasn't been told despite accounts from both sides.

There's a difference between helping and essentially spamming one thing over and over at the cost of Abyssea time which is a valuable resource (as well as real life time). Personally I'm in the same boat as Thorny to an extent, and dislike asking people for help unless it's absolutely necessary; one of the reasons I leveled RDM in the first place. I appreciate the help of my friends, but I would never take it for granted or expect it from them.

^ my view too, Thorny was saying He does those things by himself simply because he doesn't believe he needs to drag his friends, while they may not mind, to Chloris ~50 times just so he can get something out of it, while most of them likely wont.

That seems pretty selfless to me.

I was watching a DNC solo Khalamari the other day, Offered my assistance as TH4 THF, and a SMN Friend (we were gunna duo it), was completely Ignored, and the DNC got killed by an unlucky Mantle Pierce, without even a thought i claimed the mob and killed it, they had their chance and i was ignored, in that situation I've offered my help as was declined, and i would have no moral problem finishing the mob have they failed too.

So i can't entirely blame thorny for what he did here, if i did i'd be a hypocrite =x
