Expecting people to allow you to benefit from their efforts, regardless of whether or not they have anything to gain from their spoils, is rude in and of itself. Now, that's not to say that there's an issue with being generous in such situations, but its hardly something that should be expected. There will never come a day when everyone is ready to put forth the same effort and charitably as the person next to them(which, if ignored, will only lead to heavy manipulation and a dramatically greater evil than consumerism), and pretending that isn't the case is nothing short of naive. Failing to acknowledge that the exchange of assets is a staple of a functional human society is extraordinarily ignorant.

tl;dr- Don't buy it if you don't want to, but don't fucking bitch about it as if it were hazardous to the community.

This is a game, real life logic doesn't always apply. If someone is going to drop an item to the floor, why wouldn't you let someone else benefit from that? Does it hurt you so bad that they are gaining some kind of benefit from your work when you don't even desire the item?

As sad as it is, that is true. Be that as it may, why contribute to it when people can make small differences to make the experience better for others. There's that thing, do something good for one person, they do one thing good for another and so on, I forget what that was but it would be nice if people followed it.

If something is relatively worthless to you (seals are ~100k, boots ~100k, 100k is a lot?) and you will toss it, why not give it to someone for free. People who sell the belts camp just for the gil (still worth decent price). Not the same.

Spend less time making silly assumptions about him and you'd probably experience a lot more of his Morality first hand.

As probably one of the least contributory members of his linkshell(not by choice, unfortunately), I'm still on the receiving end of his countless instances of charitability. I can say with absolute certainty that, even though I am able to help him with little to nothing, and having only known him for maybe a little over a year, he's aided me more than any single person or group has in my seven or so years playing this game.

Believe me, more than 60% of the server has experience his "morality". It really astounds me how people can behave like that over a game, but I am talking to the wind here. Whether you had a hard time or not has no bearing on how he treats other people. As far as its concerned, you were a bg poster on asura before you even moved here so he knew you, but like I said it doesn't matter in regards to how he is.

Like I insinuated, someone who's experiences with him consist predominantly of bitchfests over absolutely nothing isn't going to understand where I'm coming from. At worst, the guy is morally neutral- you probably won't get random acts of kindness or random acts of malevolence without some manner of provocation.
