New Monitor, not my area of expertise. Help anyone?

I've been upgrading peripherals and such to enhance my gaming experience.

Went from shitty headphones to a Logitech G35, an old logitech 6 button mouse to a Razer Naga, and now im looking into a new monitor. Mine is currently 22" and I don't want to spend more than $400 bucks and i'd like to get a 27".

A few choices i've been researching are...

    LG

    Viewsonic (leaning towards this one)

    of course Samsung
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001379

They all look like very nice displays and have pretty much all the same ports, refresh, resolutions.

Here is a link comparing the three
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007617%2060003 0620&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=20|24-116-441^24-116-441-TS,24-005-127^24-005-127-TS,24-001-379^24-001-379-TS

I'm open to other suggestions but please follow it up with a comment as to why you're suggesting it unless its just obvious. Like I said I understand basics but its not my expertise when it comes to displays so any help/advice is very apprecaited!

    Thanks alot.

Eww, all three of those are 16:9.

The contrast difference between the three isn't appreciable, so I'd default to ViewSonic on just the refresh rate.

Anyone else care to comment, maybe recommend a monitor. Id like for it to be at least a sizable increase over my already decent 22".

Just get the ASUS 23.6' Vh24, you will not regret it.

    @Omnipotent
I can't upgrade from a 22" in to 23.5" its just not worth it.

I guess that one would be fine and the resolution is better for gaming than x1080. I don't know much about HANNS-G anyone know anything about them? I want a big monitor but I don't want to compromise on picture quality.

I got the 24 inch version of the LG display for a year now, I quite like it and am thinking of buying another one for my second PC. It has good specs, not top notch, but imo it's a nice 4 star display. Spec I really like is the "f-engine". I have no idea what the other displays are capable of, but f-engine gives a nice vibrant image when I set it to on.

look at the response time and contrast ratio. Generally you can't really go wrong with Samsung.

I'm a huge fan of the 24" Dell ultrasharps. 3 at work and one at home, they're damn nice (better be for the $500 price)

I would love to get an Ultrasharp 30" dell monitor but those things are 1k+ ugh.

I think im going to settle on the Viewsonic and see how things go. That or the Samsung since I've had a Samsung for 3 years now and its just as awesome as day 1. From what i've been reading those Hanns G monitors fail a good majority of the time and while the 3yr warranty is good for that, the shipping costs are not.
