    Repeating wireless signal?

Ok, so my laptop has a better wireless utility than my Wii. I'm getting connection from the neighbors on my laptop, and want to share the same for my Wii.

My wii can connect, but the signal is only 1 bar, as compared to the two bars on my laptop and frequently d/c's as where I'm not having that issue w/ my laptop.

is there a device that I can use on my laptop to rebroadcast the signal to give my wii the connection as well?

Not one from your laptop, but you can buy a signal repeater.

Most Linksys routers, particularly older models, have repeater mode.
You basically feed the connection to an access point within your house & it rebroadcasts your signal.

Connect up with your laptop as close to the signal as possible; Run > cmd > ipconfig /all
It should bring up a bunch of adapters, etc. It'll say Physical Address; record that down then follow the directions in the guide here:

Also; You can probably get a cheap router just to use for this in your house for like ~20$ on eBay.

If i'm connected w/ my laptop wireless, would this work to transmit to my Wii? Or is it lan connection to PC onry?

I'm sure you could use that, but it could possibly be a shitty signal or not work at all.
The purpose of that adapter is primarily for making hot spots for DS & PSP to recognize.

Why not just buy this and stick it somewhere in your house?

Cause I'm getting connection from a neighbor. Idk if that'd pick up connection from any point in my house.

My current wireless card is on the roof, and a little more weatherproof than I could make that linksys.

Would this work the same? It's a usb hotspot, but doesn't specifically say Wii. Looks like a better build and the on sale price is only a few bucks more than I'm already paying http://www.amazon.com/GSI-High-Power.../ref=de_a_smtd (but usually 50 bucks)

    Just. Lol.

I'll take a stab. You could get a USB extension cord and hide that little bugger in your neighbors yard for a better signal.

You can also just turn on internet sharing and share over the Ethernet port on your laptop iirc.

Wii doesn't naturally have an Ethernet, you need a lan adapter. Costs more money than the wireless utilities I'm trying here, though I think my friend has one. So I can test his and see how that works before buying.

I get good signal on the roof, lol. Looking to get better signal on my Wii, though, xD. The laptop isn't the problem.

And since you guys seem to like my roof, lol, for the lulz, this is my current solution until I can fix my connection problem
