This is driving me nuts. I think it was a PS2 game, I played it forever ago and I think it was just a demo. It was hack-n-slash, kind of like DMC, and was similarly dark/gothic themed, there were definitely demons involved. Your character had a big ass sword and the combat was pretty flashy but I think a little unresponsive, control-wise. Can't remember the character's name...Sigfried? Maybe? It was very gory. You killed zombies and demons, the beginning part of the demo had endlessly spawning demons unless you opened a door or something. It was very linear. Think Berserk meets DMC. Must've been 8 or 9 years ago, I think I was around 13 or 14.
Also, this just made me remember -- there was another game, super gory but fun as fuck, for PS2 and was also hack and slash. I think you were a warrior or gladiator or something, the main char only had on like half a shirt, it was weird, but when enemies attacked, you assigned each one a button on the controller, so if there were 4 enemies you could assign one to circle, one to triangle, one to X and one to square. And you attacked/killed enemies by pressing repeatedly on their assigned button, made switching targets on the fly insanely easy and it flowed beautifully. Think it started with a 'K.'
