We'll see what open beta brings but saying it's beta as a defense for everything wrong with FFXIV is a problem, when the games release is 22 days away.

After release, I'm sure the same people will say, well every MMO releases with tons of problems. Since they can't fall back on the beta defense.

This is partially true however. While the newer western MMOs like WoW and Aion have numerous tests before the game/patch/update/expansion is released so that it's 100% (so im told), SE and some other JP companys really do ship and run 50% complete games. SE is the prime example here, they fully know this game is far from complete (and have admited it), but will release it in 22 days. I joined XI when JP PC was released, months after the PS2 release, and the game was complete shit in every way XIV currently is.

XIV PC gamers are the beta testers till PS3 comes out. PS3 will see a huge update, and will probably start running smoother then.

If anyone is expecting 100% performance from XIV when its released, theyre going to be very upset. 90% or 80% is still a dream.

I plan on buying and playing XIV, but I have no intention of playing it like I did XI. Some of my rl friends who have been beta testing are really pissed that this game sucks so much atm, but I just tell them to stop giving a shit, cuse I sure dont. I dont really understand how some people can care so much about a game. The more this game sucks is more of an excuse to quit the bs all together, but it's a good time killer. I played beta for about 6 hours total before I just stopped caring.

Just call me Mr Casual.

Some of the commands and such seems to be in the game, but hasn't been in the beta, at least from what I've found around, things like /r and <st>. I hope this applies to more areas and they just haven't revealed things for wahtever dumb reason.

I was speaking more about the meat and potatos, not the gravy.
I mean things like the market wards/retainers being emphasized rather than just using the Auction House system which was infinitely better.

They said there will be a search function to the retailers, so in theory, it might resamble AH without the latest sales history, more what you have in WoW, where you can see what is beign sold.
Honestly I have hard time imagining they're really that dumb to not fix some of the stuff that isn't working well right now, I probably should.
I'm also really sick, so if I'm not making much sense I apologize. :$
