You fucking know Sony is gonna be charging for online gaming on PSN at some point, most probably when the PS4 rolls around. Not sure about Nintendo. Looks like I might be going PC only next gen. Fuck all this noise.

Most of yalls girls or parents think blowing 60 a month or every few months on a game is splurging and is unnecessary, justify it by looking at what you spend now. My poor brother has been paying for years now and he only plays online during a few week-long stretches a year. So, xbox has a business model of:
1) breaking upwards of 40% of the time with no rebates given.
2) charging for what the competition gives for free (playing online)
3) adds what many consider to be worthless features (facebook, netflix, twitter) to justify charging(sony has a free browser to actually go to those sites for free).
4) after years of raking in free money they bump up the price justified by "..."

Again, my poor bro has been lucky enough not to have to buy another xbox due to rrod, but he HAS anyway from years of paying to play games online that now charge their own fee to play online if you have a used copy. Meaning, game companies aren't getting any of that xbox live money even though their content is the only reason people are willing to pay...

I personally rage about the charge to begin with, the increase is like a parking ramp charging an extra two dollars a day because of a convention in town(halo reach is the convention).

I don't think Sony would flat out towards a $60 annual fee given they have PSN+. I'd assume something that's more of an entry fee, such as $20-30 instead strictly for online without the fluff, then later down the road merging that with PSN+ for something around $50-60.
(or giving enough of a discount for either or when subscribed to the other)

Be better for them to do it on a new console though as a shitload of the existing games with online services host it on the publishers' end, where-as Microsoft has 90% of the titles run through their matchmaker servers.
