MyScribe/Netbook issue
I use a netbook for all of my school work, which generally is extremely overpowered for class work to be honest. Hardware here isn't my issue. My University uses MyScribe for their electronic books, which I have started using over normal books, because even if you don't use it, the ebook is charged to your class fees. In other words if I buy the actual book I pay for two books, even though the ebook is significantly cheaper.
Anyway, the thing about MyScribe is it loads every page of your book as an image. Because they have text on them, I'd say they are most likely png images. Due of this, when I open a book that has 700+ pages, my netbook completely dies. Opening books of equal size in Adobe etc, are completely fine. My question is, does anyone know of a convenient way to change the MyScribe proprietary files into pdf files?
I have tried printing to .pdf conversions, which actually works. However, MyScribe found out other students were doing this, and rather than giving students an easy method of conversion, they made it to where you can only print 40 pages at a time.
So does anyone know of any simpler methods of getting around this? I have thought about printing 40 pages at a time to pdf and then merging them, but this would take quite a while for each class that I'm taking every semester.
