Why can't they just say it? If I could simply switch my SE account from NA to EU and still play XI I'd do it right away but they're being so vague about it.

I think maintenance. I have an EU account (my main) and I live in the EU and play on EU FFXI and I can't login either. I think tbh I'm going to leave my NA alt account alone for now and if I can continue to play on it just not worry about "future services" as I have no intention of playing XIV associated with the NA SE account.

I wonder if essentially this is only going to mess you up for XIV.

I don't see why you couldn't just input a random address like years ago with POL.

there is some truth tho. FFXI's players confidence in SE has been so shattered that if the worst happens they'll probably believe it.

one would expect SE won't fuck up the player-base and lose business through revenue from a % of said player-base over minor issues because its bad for business..
but apparently they do.

I seriously had an argument with friend of mine who absolutely hates playing FFXI about exactly that. He seems to think FF14 is going to be some magical happy MMO of amazing fun and told me to stop ruining his dreams when I told him what everyone's saying about the beta and that knowing SE it'll be the same but more so, just with really pretty graphics.
