Open beta keys will be available via entry.ffxi.com site starting at 19:00 PDT. You will have to sign up for the open beta, and then your key will be e-mailed to you. Presumably the client download link will re-appear on that site, as well.
WTF is complicated about that?

Site is still loading blazing fast for me. BG is actually a lot slower right now.
Edit: nvm, I see entry.na is getting hammered, EU ones load perfectly fine.
