Meh, received code, it's all I need to be able to get into Open Beta, be back in another hour to check status, jeez, you'd think they would've planned for this... considering the way FFXI servers get hammered after update days.

Am I the only one stuck on some random "Select your region to continue" page? I click North America but nothing happens, it appears to be a javascript with a popup but it refuses to trigger it. Anyone who got through have to pass that page or am I not even in the right spot?

The beta portal, the beta client login, the beta application, and the official beta forums are all on the same fried server. You can get through with some luck, but... good luck?

The only thing that appears to be unhindered is the beta client version updating...

Are you sure? Are you in the game? If you launch the client and log in, all that happens for me is it brings me to a page with a big button that brings me to SE account management, and that's it. There doesn't seem to be any way to actually launch the game.

Got my code, and was updated as of this morning, but there's apparently a file I missed between this morning and this afternoon, and of course, its timing out due to massive lag.

There is nothing past that javascript button but a tidal wave of time outs. Trust me, I am there now.

They changed the entry page /sigh

In preparation for the official release of FINAL FANTASY XIV on September 30, 2010 and the early release on September 22, we will be conducting an open beta test to help put the finishing touches on the game.

We ask that all users who wish to participate in the open beta test log in with their Square Enix account and apply.

It made me do that, I just chose north america and took maybe 1-2 min to load, slow but not unbearable.
