Seriously. Let's not let the people who have been reporting bugs this entire time in. But every 12 year old can play after school.

Got a couple questions...
1. Can you register the key sent out to you with a different account or is it link to that peticular account?
2. "If you are currently subscribed to FINAL FANTASY XI, you are eligible for various perks on the commercial release of the game. Please link a PlayOnline ID with an active FINAL FANTASY XI Content ID to your Square Enix account before applying for the open beta test. For information on the various perks, click here"
Does that mean if you register the Beta key without activating FFXI you cant recieve the perks when the game launch the 22?
Can they please just come out and say "Hey games not finished come back in 2011"
Stuck at 47.3% as well as my whole linkshell.
I got seeds from somewhere on utorrent, mine finished
47.3% for me too
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but people responsible for making software testing plans will tell you that often "fresh, unbiased, and unkowledgable" testers are more important in later stages of testing, and re-using people who have been previously involved in testing earlier versions yields diminishing rewards. Having a few folks around who experienced the older versions can be useful, but the bulk of the testers should be "virgins". I'm not going to make a wall 'o text explaining *why* this is true, but...it is true. So it's not that surprising that SE decided, in the end, that previous testing expereince on the product did not warrant "go to the head of the line" on the open beta. Unfortunately, they made that decision late in the game, after telling everyone the opposite.
keys being suspended is actually not true. just got a key about an hour ago.
Don't really see it. And they also stated all previous testers would be in ALL future tests.
The torrent is on your computer when you start the update process on their updater. Close their updater, then go to My Documents. Find the My Games folder, go to FFXIV, then there's going to be a folder called downloads, then ffxiv-beta, then d96437e6, or something like that if not exactly that. The torrent files are in metainfo. This is for Win 7 btw could be different for other windows, but the files should be there somewhere. They're called like D2010.09.02.2001 etc
It makes the downloads go a lot quicker if you use a 3rd party (lol) torrent program
For me, my internet's speed caps on utorrent with these. Done in no time. I'll help seed.
Posted in other thread but valid : http://www.mediafire.com/?2s56z62el4f4ax9 the 2 patches .rar'd
While I would normally agree, the problem with that is no new open beta tester can even look at the feedback/bugs section of the beta test site, let alone post there. They have stated that only those who were in alpha/closed who participate in open beta can continue using the feedback sections of the official beta site. Which makes it all the more unbelievably retarded that all alpha/closed testers weren't just auto-generated a new key for open.
Thank you both for means of acquiring patch. I love you guys.
I love everyone.
ergh it downloaded, then I started launcher, said version update failed, i started launcher again, stuck at 47.3% again
Not all the files in there need to be downloaded. A lot of those are from earlier on. The latest ones are
D2010.09.02.2000
D2010.09.02.2001
Make sure it downloads into the ffxiv-beta folder as well. If you did it right, SE's downloader should catch up with what the torrent program did and realize the entire file is there for it to start installing it.
