Keys ARE avaliable, there is just a concurrent connection limit, or a per hour limit on the key distribution. Just keep spamming it till you get through.

Hello,
I tried searching for an answer to my query but came up with nothing...
I have recieved a registration code and can log into my SE account without problem, but I can not for the life of me find a place to input the code in the SE account settings. There seems to be no option to select the FFXIV beta from the options available. Only FFXIV itself shows up. When I select that I have to agree to some form of thing having to do with the Crysta payment method. Is this what I should do, or should there be an option to select the beta and input the code?
Read the email, that question doesn't warrent a serious answer
well, I am reading my email and thought I was following it pretty accurately, but where it says to select the beta test option and input the code, I cannot find such an option.
You are not, guess you need to go back to school
From the email
1. Log in to the Square Enix Account Management System.
Square Enix Account Management System: https://secure.square-enix.com/account/
2. Register the registration code.
Click "Select Service" from "Services and Options" on the left menu. Select "FINAL FANTASY XIV" from the services available and then "Add a service account." Enter the registration code you've been issued and proceed to the end of registration.
ok, thanks for the reply.
I think there is some discrepancy between the English and Japanese versions of the email. 'Cause mine (in Japanese) says something different.
Selecting FFXIV and then something that roughly translates to Service Account Agreement takes me to a form to input my name and address etc. (still about agreeing to crysta as a payment method and giving me no option to input the code)
I kind of understand if you're too fed up with this to reply further. I think I might just wait till retail release at this point.
So just so I'm clear, it wouldn't be a waste of time to keep spamming that link/logging in to my account and trying that until it takes me to an actual OB application? I actually don't mind spamming it, just want to know if it'd be a waste or not if there actually aren't any keys left/the application is suspended like the website says.
So even if I was in closed beta, I was supposed to apply for a new key? Because I can't log in anymore![]()
That's fucking retarded.
IMO, it would not be a waste of your time. When I got my key, it was right after everyone began posting how the keys were once again "Temporarily Suspended", so I spammed for about 15 minutes and eventually ended up getting through and got my key. At the same time though, this was yesterday at around 10:30 am est, so I don't know if circumstances have changed much being a new day and all.
Just persevered and finally got a key.
So you can get a key by prereserving a copy?
What an ass, he is reading it right, the email does not mention the extra step of putting in his personal info, and that is what was throwing him off. I feel sorry for you in your unhappy little world that you must take out your frustration on people you don't even know.
Just fill out your personal info, then follow the email again, after your info is entered the link will take you to the right place.
Finally got a key, and updated the game (via torrents)
However, I keep getting a timeout error when trying to play.
Is there a certain time the servers are up for the open beta too, or is servers just overloaded?
Maintenance right now, ending in 40 mins.
Can anyone confirm that you can get a beta key by reserving a copy somewhere?
i think you misread that
