The numbers you're responding to were approximations for ruby light from chests. I can't see it being possible to cap exp with native ruby in <4, but without exact probability it's more or less our observations vs each other and hard to say either is right.

I can't stress this enough though: If you're going for exp, as opposed to triggers or time as primary goal, you're fucking retarded if you don't obtain ruby.

You're most definitely wrong. This is from Mandragoras in Tahrongi, no ruby farming outside of opening a box that had ruby.

My main counterexample was an 8 hour pickup party killing 2.5 mobs/minute that I left my mule in for 8 hours.. given 28 pachypodiums, 7.5/repop cycle is a bit over 1/4 the max attainable killspeed(which you aren't hitting in fell cleave burns anyway, holding mobs slows down actual repop timer) so should have capped in 4 hours and never did. I was hastebotting on a mule and making sure boxes were opened, but typing it out made me realize main error in using that as a sample: mule was like level 40.

However, I don't think this has any effect on the camp choice. A pickup isn't doing this, and in Solanis's example, she's still limitting her party to less pops and increasing (minor) risks/slowdown by using mobs that blood aggro and can cast sleeps. The main relevance is that a top tier party may be more inclined to do mandragora knowing they can cap that quickly: 28 spawns is the most of any popular abyssea camp. The main drawback, of course, being the slower build-back rate when you spend merits or change jobs. You could argue someone will have ruby, but realistically there'll be zone-outs constantly to spend merits and the people staying in zone are the 75-84 dd, which are predisposed to get less killshots. 28/23 is a 21.7% increase in #/mobs, but that makes the camp harder to own and your potential may not be high enough to keep up with using all of the mobs anyway.

To answer myself, just tried, got it to 86% in liek 15 minutes before i warped away (oh oops, i pulled it down near some exp camps lol).

what stopped you? bad tp moves? all i saw before it ate me was moderate attack speed and tier 5 nukes.

Nah, was easy to stay alive, but i couldn't do enough damage.

Should be able to do it with 100+ mins, but i don't have that kind of time to waste.

With slow/para, it hardly attacks at all, and doesn't even hit that hard. Only real risk is break hitting you without shadows. My first try i got hit with it, and it lasted over a minute before it killed me (yeah, i survived a minute of it attacking me lolol).

I've replaced this one before, and the crystal is not the issue. The problem is in the zone's .dat, all the glittering shit on the ground.

In La Theine, I was able to open a random Blue Pyxis that was lying around and it had some cruor inside. This leads me to believe that some boxes are infact real and wont proceed to rape upon touching but after trying it again and having a box draw in -> stun -> draw in repeatedly, I'll just be leaving all boxes alone period.

Just not worth it imo.
