Doesn't look like Mao to me, unless they decided to make him taller and give him a more standard piece of apparel. Looks like I get to get off my ass and finish up my platinum for #3 before this one comes out. >.>

is 3 worth playing? i played 2 way back in the day when i didn't really know how to play rpgs like i do now like grinding and now that they are making a 4 i wanna know if its worth it

It's hard for me to recommend, but it's basically 'more of the same' from Disgaea 1/2, so if you enjoyed those, you'll probably like the third one, unless the new characters just tick you off for whatever reason. Also keep in mind that the graphics have had zero improvement from Disgaea 2 other than a higher resolution. I'd only pay $19 at most for it.

Game is a lot more static than I was expecting. Seems like the slashing is restricted to just random props as well as creatures, not furniture.
(such as the table he slashed through 10 times during the demo)

Seems to me that would ruin the demo, so I wouldn't rule it out just yet as a possibility tbh.

Less impressive than I thought it'd be from the write ups. Noctis looks like a tool swinging that sword. Should be a damn sight better than XIII at least though. But I was expecting something a little faster, assuming that really is actual gameplay.

The system as described by the creators is like a derivative of the KH battle system with some TPS elements... I don't believe for one second that it'll play out that slowly. I'll wait for more action than a few seconds of sword slashing before I say whether or not it meets expectations.
