They just ended the season with the typical “WTF they’re gonna end the season like that”.

There's another season. This was just a season finale, not a series finale.

The August 28, 2009 TV Guide reported that Season 7 (2011) will have nine episodes, culminating with the series finale on or around the 10th anniversary of 9/11

They filmed Seasons 6 and 7 together, and just decided to push the last 9 episodes back a year.

I honestly thought that was the end of it. My DVR said (Series Finale) and everything. Thus my WTF'ing over it.
That said, it was a half decent ending for a season.
