I liked it. A hilarious opening skit, funny use of the masturbating bear, news joke was great. I expect a few more random jabs at NBC in the first week and then he'll settle into his groove.

And I think even with this lead in I will still never watch George Lopez, but I assume he'll get better ratings like this.

He busted out those ex-talkshow host masks during the test show I went to as well, it was hilarious seeing Elijah wood wearing that mask. He also busted out the remote controlled moon, but did a bit with a guy doing modern experimental dance behind it (like the moon was his head).

I actually liked the test show better than this first show, cuz Charlie Day > all. Still a great first episode though, loved the intro video lol. Looking forward to having another great personality who can actually be funny 4 days a week, very few people can pull that off.

Ah, feels great watching Conan again. First show was superb. Definitely watching this every night again, just like old times.

And yeah, changed the channel right after this ended, I hate George Lopez.

Gotta love living in Canada. Conan is on the Comedy Network here, so I get a lineup of The Daily Show, Cobert Report, Conan, and if I'm still awake, Big Bang Theory and if I'm STILL awake, The Simpsons. Solid 2~3 hours of late night.

Fun first show. Good old standard Conan, but he'll have more freedom and I'm sure he'll use it well in due time

TBS released early ratings for the debut of Conan on Monday. Conan O’Brien’s new show on basic cable earned a 2.8 rating among Nielsen’s 56 metered markets. That means an average minute of Conan was watched by 2.8 percent of the homes in those markets.

George Lopez’ Lopez Tonight, which aired after Conan, earned a 1.1 rating. Better details about O’Brien’s performance among the key demographics will be released around 1 p.m.

In comparison, last week Letterman was 1.0 and Leno 0.9. Stewart and Colbert are usually around 1.1-1.5

I'm not sure of Lopez earlier ratings but I'd bet the 1.1 was a boost for him too.

Conan came back strong. The debut of Conan O'Brien's much discussed new talk show on TBS premiered to great numbers, doing better than all of his late night competition, including David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel and, yep, Jay Leno.

TBS boasts that the premiere was watched by 4,155,000 viewers. The projected median age for Conan was 30, which gives it a younger audience than all of O'Brien's competition. Most importantly, Conan got a 2.8 rating in the Nielsen's, beating out Leno's 2.7, Letterman's 2.5 and Kimmel 1.7, according to The Wrap. The Conan debut also beat out cable competitors The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.

While it's very likely O'Brien's numbers will fall from the premiere, as most shows do, it also is an important moment for the talk show host and TBS, simply by proving they can indeed beat their network competition - including NBC's Tonight Show, which O'Brien so famously vacated early this year, in the wake of The Jay Leno Show fiasco.

Tom Hanks was amazing again, he's got this great vibe with Conando. I love the one bit where they did time lapsed footage of the set being turned into the Conan set, and all it was was a guy replacing the Maury Pouvich sign with a Conan O'Brien one.
