Strange keyboard / mouse issue

Hello BG,

So i recently moved to my first apartment. I brought my new computer that i just bought, and i also brought my old computer (that i used to play XI on). So i start up both computers and tried to log on msn on my old comp, but the keyboard wouldn't work. The thing is that Caps Lock works, so it shouldn't be an hardware issue.

My mouse is also pretty fucked up on the old computer. If i double-click "My computer", it actually opens my system's "Common" settings that shows your computer name, service pack and your opearting system.
The problems occur in the whole Windows, not just Messenger. Also, everything is fine with my new computer.

New comp: Win7 / Logitech keyb (USB)/ MX518 mouse
Old comp: WinXP / Logitech keyb (NON-USB)(different one, some old junk), / MX518

Could it be that somehow internet-connection is relevant in this case? It's hard to swallow the fact that my old computer's ONLY outside devices just die on the first start up. My initial thoughts was some sort of port issues, but i have no clue if keyboard / mouse have anything to do with ports.

Did you hold the shift key too long on the keyboard? If you hold it for too long it sometimes goes into a weird mode. Try holding it down for 8 seconds and see if it corrects the problem.

I have not, but i'll of course give it a try when i get home. Though, that doesn't explain the mouse problem right? I did some googling and i found people with same problems. They mentioned about ports stuff aswell. I am almost certain that this is somekind of Local Area Network issue...

Lol i should not even be posting this, but meh i guess i have to... I just got home and i noticed (in the bright daylight), that my ALT GR was jammed down LOL. Guess it jammed when i threw it in the box. Epic failure :D lol

Thanks though Robbb, i actually called my friend earlier today and asked if he knew something about this. He told me that tapping shift / ctrl / alt, may fix it.
