Trabia is quite the odd one out because theres no actual city/town called Trabia, unlike the rest . altho there is Trabia Garden..
wonder why they didnt stick to another FF8 real city place, like Dollet, Timber or Esthar...

that said.. there'll certainly be more servers up in future.. so we should expect to see more town names popping up...
also I hope they'll add towns from FFXI-XIII too...

It would be useful to have a recommended server. A forum of this size encouraging their members to go to one server would get many more mid to highly talented players there making high level grouping much easier.

Anyone know what the number of birds next to a server represents? I wanted high if it was population, but low if it was latency...

Just a quick heads-up - I made new IRC channels with the new server names. Channel names are the same scheme as before: #ffxiv-server to make things easy to remember. I'm also looking for channel mods to help me out (I can't manage em all myself!). If you already know which server you're going to and know a little bit about IRC, drop in and let me know.

If you've never used IRC before, here's a quick & easy way to do it:

- Go to chat.mibbit.com.
- Select GameSurge from the server menu
- Enter your nickname and the channel name in the boxes provided
- Press Go - BAM you're in!

Trying to make a second char to check out the Grid but its not on the list. Yet FF14new's server status shows its up.. Not sure if its just filled and not taking people or the server is actually down.

So it looks like they blocked out a lot of Final Fantasy related last names.

Shiva, Moogle, Gilgamesh, Chocobo, Asura, Titan to name a few that I've tried. Names of Airships seem to work.
