The expressions on player characters during cutscenes are done so damn well. It's night and day when looking back at FFXI. The inclusion of little bits of voice tops it off. It caught me delightfully off-guard when my Miqo'te gasped a little at the "Hear... Feel..." in The Black Shroud intro.

The Elezen girl I was trying to redo this from over a year ago. Turns out the Wildwood Elezens don't have ears that long.

Nose 4 looks like a good option too, but I went with nose 1. Eyebrows 2 could make her look kinder/friendlier. I was trying to Match the above pick so I went with 5. These are the presets used in all those SC screenshots. Ears are type 3 and only characteristic 1 is used.

It really is! I felt kind of cool being tall when I made a miqo/hyur to play around with but being a taru again is just hard to not do. I'm so torn QQ

Did they put any of the promised new hair styles into the beta yet? I'm curious, I have the basic idea for my character but want to know what the other hairstyles are looking like.

What race and sex? I'll tell you how many hair styles there are and if any have variations.

They haven't added any of the hairstyles as far as I know. They only announced them just recently at that prerelease presentation. Most likely waiting for launch... Sucks because I hate how much time I end up spending on being ultra-anal about character creation when I just want to log in. Future haircut/color service though, that is a bit of a relief. (I hope they don't allow for any changes other than that, though.)

Mithra. I know the original hair styles, I think there are 1-8 or something to start?, but want to know what the new ones look like as well.
