20 gil says all of the last step lv 99 weapons will be the same with different stats, ala FF13.

All dagger paths, maybe not the dakini/kila path, but all others may very well end up as a lv 99 weapon, all the same. IE All sword paths reconverge on the Lionheart, but depending on which path you take will determine what stats the Lionheart has, IE ws path = Weaponskill dmg+20% or something, Tp path = stp+20, damage path = dmg+30 or some shit, multi hit = OAT/OAthrice/OAfour etc etc etc

Just a sneaky suspicion I have for these weapons.

Also, did any other RDM dislike the new combination of top hat and chapeau we're getting in Empyrean armor?
My Duelist's Chapeau weeps at this addled sense of style.

Then I would hope that the OAT path turn into Empyrean version in the final lvl cap, cuz it seems like it is a dead end for many people upgrading their max dmg path. I would rather hit that dead end later than sooner and take my time doing the final upgrade.

They were clearly pointing out the WS during that part and not the Aurore set.
Besides, you're comparing a trailer for an expansion that was released months later with one of a battle add-on coming out next week.
I'm pretty sure the WTF reaction is what they wanted to get.

Hmm, if the AF3 is upgradeable through magian, I wonder if each piece will have multiple paths to take like the weapons. Or just be one straight path.

It will most likely not be worth doing multiple trials because it will fuck up with macros. (Since you will have multiple pieces with the same name)

Things I'm worried about;

- That mother fucking mountain in Attowa. God help SE if that's where the Maw is >_>
- AF3 drop method/rate*

* They could do it a number of ways; They could be cruor NPCs (unlikely, but the thing does say they're being held by people so who knows). They could also be NM drops (gay) or Gold Chest drops (even more gay) or it could even be like CoP Dynamis where certain mobs drop specific job accessories (worst of all).


There's also the trials to consider for them too; Empyrean Weapons are already absurd, this Empyrean Armor better not be equally as stupid with its tasks. Looks like we have to wait until December to get the entire sets though. Not amused by this shit at all SE, especially if this armor is paid for with cruor.

That said, absolutely f'ing love the design on some of these models, especially THF.

Personally, I think AF3 is gonna come from another splintery chest. I'd say nine pieces to choose from, 3 different job sets for head/legs/feet, and after you take the Splintery Helmet through trials 2854 2967 3144 3145 3146 and 3147 (most of which somehow involve Scars), you get a Lancer's Armet. Could really go any way though. Just seems viable since they've associated AF3 with Magians.
