Hm, weird, thought they cracked down on this a while ago, I hadn't seen people use this on Odin for a while. Not that I've been looking either.

Treating the GM like you are some supreme being is stupid. i woulda jailed him for stupidity
No comment about him dying to a pinned Krabkatoa 3x in a party of four?
..depends what GM you get, I've GMed people for it dozens of time and gotten jack shit response.
Pinning, to some extent, has always been done. Kiting around rocks or trees or what not. The problem with the salvage duping is it was such blatant cheating there was no way nothing would have been done.
Pinning probably isn't inefficient in terms of man hours. If you make VNM an LS event and bring 6+ to the Tier 3s, then it's inefficient to pin them.
Just fuck up the pin once or twice and let it hit you a few times. That should let you tell the GM "HAY, LOOK IT MIGHT KILL ME".
Seems like there is a new policy everyday.

That was 16/08.
"Usually we do not see such activities as an exploit of the game"
Now go figure what that mean.

lol GMs. Who cares really? We all knew ages ago that half of them don't have their shit set in stone.
lol, if you are N.A. and call a GM, your call is NEVER taken seriously. But if a JP call's the GM on you, o_O ! watch your ass cause its coming at you with a ban hammer !.
i have called a GM many time son numerous occasion and always received gay answer like this to report to the support square enix page to send them a e-mail.
gay..... GM are worthless, totally!
^ This, lol. I would have banned off top as well, 3 mins into the conversation.
The problem with Salvage bans was not that it was blatant cheating, but duplication of item drops was involved. Ever since that 2005 Tav RMT fiasco they've been fiercely against any method of duping.
Oh, and GM Alantinka has proven time and time again to play both sides of the GM fence. So I wouldn't believe anything she says, personally.
Do people not realize that GMs have guildelines they have to follow?
Yes, a lot of them are not knowledgeable about basic game mechanics, I won't deny that. But these tailored answers and telling people to report it on the SE site is just part of their job to mention~
It's like the GM's Miranda rights, except it serves no real purpose~
I've got a great idea, let's all contact GM's for clarification on pinning and draw more attention to the subject.
There is no well defined set of policies that GMs have to enforce. The rules change much more slowly than player strategies/exploits. Partially because GMs are isolated from each other by culture, language, and geography and partially because SE makes no attempt to create a unified set of things they watch out for on a less than annual basis.
Let's be honest here... you know that pinning a mob is an exploit. It's clearly not working as intended. Yes, people do it all the time, too. You got caught and were told not to do it. Maybe next time, do it faster so some random do-gooder doesn't happen by and GM your whiny asses.
