Forget Frank Sinatra. I was now James Bond.

This is really only good advice if you're rich enough to eat out at the last minute (no reservations) to exclusive restaurants. For most of the nice restaurants outside of Manhattan, just call a week in advance and you'll have no problem being seated. But, if you want to wing it and try and get into a 5-star restaurant with a 2700 person wait list and a $500 per person cost (assuming no wine, if so add another few hundred), then sure, nicely fold that $100 bill into thirds and slip it to somebody's palm.

a lot has changed in ten years, but not people. $100 still gets gears moving.

$50-100 in today's economy will probably get the gears moving faster compared to 2000 tbh.

Really nice read. I can't exactly afford shit like that on a normal basis, but when it comes to a special dinner in the future it sounds like good info to have just incase.

Wow, have none of you worked in the service industry? I have been bribed at several places that I've worked, but definitely both of the times I worked as a host in a restaurant (under 18 ) I would bring home a twenty or three on a busy night. Hell, for forty bucks I have bumped a table of dudes ahead of the list AND made sure they sat in the cutest waitresses section. She's not going to complain about it either, because they're going to tip well.

I've had a friend successfully bribe a cop out of a ticket as well, but that's a pretty ballsy move, no way I'd try it myself.

I've done this a few times, but its only really when i knew the cop would take it ( If you know the right people you find out who are the easy cops), but if he is just randomly trying.... yes your friend has some big fucking balls.

I've had a friend actually do this before at a fancy restaurant. It was something I've kept in the back of my mind since, but I don't usually have the money to go eat at fancy restaurants, much less give them extra money.
