While it's probably not the mega deal he wanted, it's not like the dude got fucked. It's essentially a one year extension of his rookie deal (he signed for 6 years back in 2007) with a shitload more cash tacked on.

Obviously the Jets were not going to release him or trade him. Also, he was running into the risk of sitting out of football for 2 years if he held out this season and a lockout happening in 2011. That's a long ass time of not playing and lost income, on top of the fines he was racking up daily since he wasn't reporting to the team.

One thing I'm questioning about the Housh deal is that they really don't have any explosive players now. Boldin, Housh, Mason, Heap...all possession receivers at this point, Stallworth is the only fast guy they have and how many balls is he gunna get with these guys in front of him. Ray Rice is exciting as hell, but hes not a speed guy afaik.

Still think it was a decent move, but just wondering how this will effect them.

I didn't realize Mason was fantastic and an injured Stallworth mattered. So basically the Ravens upgraded to two glorified almost-number 1/number 2 WRs! Woo...hoo? (Housh #2 to Ochocinco, Boldin #2 to Fitz) -- Ah well. We'll see how much it changes. I like their WR Core, but god knows I don't like it as much as Cowherd did.

He's a sports newscaster, its his job to get excited when news breaks. Stallworth's a moot point for the first half the season, but Mason's been the teams best (and really only) receiver for years (while constantly drawing double coverage). He should shine this year tbh. You can say they're glorified almost number-1's but they're really good (Housh debatable since he went to Seattle but its fucking Seattle).

That's still the best receiving core the ravens have had in some time, If I were ravens fan I would be excited too.

Fans always talk themselves into signings. Us Falcons fans were excited when we signed Ashley Freaking Lelie since he had a high speed rating on Madden.

Arthur Blank as the 20th best owner in the NFL is retarded. He trusts his coach and GM, and isn't afraid to spend money(Michael Turner, Dunta Robinson).
