I can't help but feel that MDK must only have ever played with JP-style cor/whms who do nothing but roll and afk, such is his low opinion of the job.

There are like 2~3 non gimp cors on quetz period and linkshells tend to order cors to go /whm here from what I've observed. The only reason one of the nongimp cors gets away with not being /whm is because he specifically avoids leveling whm so that he cant be forced to sub something gimp like that.
If any of my CORs ever /WHM to an event I'd probably kick them.![]()
I think you completely missed the point. My cor, in the same party I hit 80 in, was doing about half the dmg of what I consider to be a pretty good DD, fwiw. I'm sure if I had capped skills, wasn't firing random shots with bronze bullets, and better gear, I could do more than that. (FWIW I also was a co-tank on khim as cor/nin last night! inb4 waste of time/etc, was up for multiple hours before we went out and killed it 'cause we were bored and I wanted to tank something on cor)
My actual point though, was your entire analysis of 2 DD vs 3 DD vs 4 DD etc is based on the assumption that a new DD will parse equally to the 2 in party, which is generally false. Take a realistic situation (4 dds look something more like 31, 28, 23, 18) and drop out the lesser DDs for the dnc/cor...you'll also realize the dnc/cor will perform as well or almost as well as the lesser DDs while providing their buffs. I also have no idea how you decided cor is only+11% damage. 6hit>5hit is already more than that for every 2h DD. Or are we saying for mnk only it's an 11% increase in damage? Seems higher than that even for mnk...or are you saying cor roll always? In which case, the goal is exp/hr not damage output, and cor roll would still need to be factored in.
Furthermore, where did this 2 second delay after a WS come from? 'cause that's flat out wrong. I had to change my SC because in "normal" (read: high haste / high buffs) situations, having a .5-1 second aftercast delay will fuck up my hit build 100% of the time. I've seen a lot of people throw that number around recently, but I don't think it's remotely accurate unless it's modified by haste or something.
Really are sounding like pchan with bogus math in here~
Do you idiots really believe that cor should never ever ever sub whm? Shit's ridiculous. Prolly also think cor should never ever pull, etc etc. I agree full-time /whm is gimp as hell, but trying to say you should never use it is one of the most retarded and ignorant things you can possibly say.
I'm forced to agree. While I most enjoyed playing COR/RNG to events where I could shoot (DI, Kirin after I capped merits etc), there were events like Nid and KS99 Wyrm.. In fact most of my COR/WHM shit was vs dragons, lol. Anyway, there's always going to be situations where /whm is going to be helpful. Usually I would just deck myself out in AGI gear and Quick Draw in between status cures, stoneskins and buffs. Often I was in a BLM PT, that way I could take advantage of having SMN and BLM rolls up.
I never did get a chance to shoot @ Khim, though. Kind of disappointed.
Change in weapon skill frequency is not necessarily equivalent to change in damage output (unless you have 0 TP-phase damage while building TP, a trivial case). 6 hit to 5 hit is hardly even going to approach +11% damage output unless you come up with a contrived reason that it should be so.
It pertains to the delay of the next attack round, not delay between JA/WS uses. Google dnc delay 2 sec something something (allakhazam).Furthermore, where did this 2 second delay after a WS come from? 'cause that's flat out wrong.
btw, about the bst pet... it's not "clot broth," it's "plasma broth," so the argument that stuff can't match its name doesn't even matter
just seems logical since clots consist of plasma, that you'd use plasma to make a clot
