This is the first time I can recall that SE has announced a nerf in the update preview.
If enhancements are "being planned," then why are they nerfing XI duration now instead of waiting until the enhancements are ready to implement?- The duration of the corsair ability "Double Up" upon a roll of 11 will be reduced to five minutes.
*To compensate for this, enhancements to "Lucky 11" rolls are being planned for future updates, so please stay tuned!
"Hey guys, we're getting ready to nerf you, but DUN WORRY 'cause we're totally going to give you something else later on!"
Wow, the BLU spell fix is freaking as awesome as it is overdue. Number one reason I haven't touched my BLU in like, 2 years, shit was annoying.
DRG and BLU updates FTW.
I'm pretty sure Curdled Plasma Broth is going to be for a clot. Just look up curdled, plasma, and clot. It fits.
Watch it be a single bat.
Maybe you haven't noticed, but COR's single most significant function (Corsair's Roll) was almost completely obsoleted with the implementation of Abyssea. How is giving COR an extended timer for their best buffs "wrong"?
Are you seriously complaining about SE "shitting on" BRD? How many consecutive years has BRD been the most desired job in the game?
Because it was a nerf. Any COR trying to roll for the mage in their party was getting stuck with a mage roll while DDing or a melee roll while being in a support role.
The idea of extending rolls is not wrong, the implementation is. Either extend ALL rolls to 10 minutes or don't. It's that simple.
Cor patch is win. QD TP / Skillup is amazing. Losing the 10min buff kinda suxs but getting buffs to all rolls with 11 in future makes up for it. More win for Bst's, all the fuckers can now bandwagon jump on the hotness! :X
BST really did get all of the love this update. All of that not including the natural level correction to 85 + Beast Affinity. :3
I totally agree with this. Getting SMN to 80 didn't make any sense prior to this announcement due to how perp costs work. I wasn't sure of the exact numbers but I figured that getting SMN to 80 would mean the need for perp -5 staves which I don't really have the time to acquire. :/
Yea. They're desired because of a handful of songs. Just because March and Elegy are highly desired doesn't make the job perfect. New songs are pretty weak, where COR has gotten Mazurka, Fast Cast, is getting attack delay down, and so on. BRD is getting tier-ups and a defensive song. Are you seriously complaining about SE "shitting on" BRD? How many consecutive years has BRD been the most desired job in the game?
Well, considering that BRD has to merit a JA to even match the duration of normal 5 minute rolls, and at best can have a 10 minute timer on that JA....maybe making it so that lucky rolls that likely exceed what Soul Voice songs provide (for comparable songs/rolls) automatically get a duration longer than Soul Voice songs can be given for, even with the benefit of Troubadour, was seen as perhaps a bit much.Maybe you haven't noticed, but COR's single most significant function (Corsair's Roll) was almost completely obsoleted with the implementation of Abyssea. Plus, yeah, you got stuck with 11s due to duration determining overwrites.
Not necessarily. Though the chance is certainly there that the jug is a slime, you have to remember that jugs are named for the food that would lure in the pet. For example, Carrot Broth summons Hare Familiar, Antica Broth summons Antlion Familiar, and Meat Broth summons Tiger Familiar. So now you have to think about what would eat curdled plasma. The natural predators of amorphs are aquans, so it might be one of those or something completely different.
Just like many other BSTs though, I'm still hoping it's a slime.![]()
Yay now Ouryu will finally be killable!- Elemental ninjutsu will receive a damage increase.
Who the f*ck cares what roll the corsair has on them? COR's function is SUPPORT, and 10-minute XI meant that your party members (i.e. the reason for you being there) had your strongest buffs for a larger portion of time.
10-minute XI increased the effectiveness of COR's buffing ability. Removing it decreases the effectiveness of COR's buffing ability. It is the textbook definition of a nerf. This is not complicated.
Corsair is a better DD than THF
Isn't this like saying that RDM is desired because of "a handful of spells" or SAM is desired because of a "handful of WSes"? Being desired for a few REALLY IMPORTANT THINGS is far superior, in practice, to being desired for a bunch of little things.
And again, it bears mentioning that the SINGLE thing that COR was most desired far was rendered irrelevant.
...which BRD has had since before COR was released...New songs are pretty weak, where COR has gotten Mazurka,
...which is still inferior to currently existing Marches, based on potency...Fast Cast,
Marchis getting attack delay down,
I love how you refer to a 66% increase in BRD's refresh capability as simply "tier-ups."and so on. BRD is getting tier-ups and a defensive song.
Well, considering that every single BRD song is on it's own recast timer (as opposed to one shared timer for all COR rolls) and song recasts are 12-24 seconds (as opposed to 45-60 seconds for rolls), COR's roll duration seems appropriate.Well, considering that BRD has to merit a JA to even match the duration of normal 5 minute rolls, and at best can have a 10 minute timer on that JA....maybe making it so that lucky rolls that likely exceed what Soul Voice songs provide (for comparable songs/rolls) automatically get a duration longer than Soul Voice songs can be given for, even with the benefit of Troubadour, was seen as perhaps a bit much.
Then maybe they should prohibit Troubadour from working with Soul Voice. I mean, who wants to be "stuck" with SV songs?Plus, yeah, you got stuck with 11s due to duration determining overwrites.
