Not only the 460 xD but this is a matter of time till this is fixed - and its not that the game is unplayable till then.

So I thought I had more time to shop around, but that PC that was linked earlier came into stock today (was expected on the 14th), so I have to make a decision.
First, building is not an option.
So I was going to go with the I5 with the GTX460, but then I found a few more.

    Originally decided on this: ($900)
    (partial link): newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229199

But found this ($760-better processor, less hard drive space, lower graphics card, but uber mail-in-rebate deal. Better deal? Or pos? lol)
    (partial link): newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227243

And this (Same as the original, except different brand and more RAM.. is it worth it?)
    (partial link): newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227282

A quick reply would be great! (Don't want that first option to run out again if that is still the best option, lol!)

Thanks for all the help~ ^.^

The first and last system (the same system with more RAM) is nice. Stick with either the first or last. You don't want to build a nice system like that and then gimp it with a poorer video card. The GTX460 is an impressive little beast. You won't be disappointed with it. As for which on those two you should get, that's up to you. They're changing a few minor details like keyboard, mouse, and case, in addition to adding the 4GB of RAM. I'd rather have 8 than 4 but you're not going to be upset either way.

You won't need more than 4 Gigs of RAM to play the game properly.

The i7 in the 2nd one is one of the lower-class i7 processors, the other ones are better :3

Hurray for being in one of the three states they charge sales tax in.. -.-
Guess I'll have to keep looking... see if I can find something on another site. Paying an extra $100 for nothing.. doesn't really float my boat. (Referring to tax.. not the 8 gig rig.. lol)

How are you determining which is better?
I've been using this site as reference.. and it goes against your opinion.

    http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

It also has a chart for graphics cards that I've been using.

I'm a little wary of the GTX460 still. I know its one of the "zomguber" cards for most of the games out... but I've heard nothing but horror stories concerning FFXI and XIV... and thats all I want this rig for.

Seems I'm stuck with paying sales tax because I can't find another decent online site.. apparently I'm behind in my web browsing skills...
So.. If I'm going to be spitting out more money than I have to anyway... what do you think about this processor? The graphics card is pretty close to the top of the line and would eliminate the whole 'scaryness' of the 460 (unfounded or not).

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16883229137R $1,030 total
Has two fans instead of one(minor detail is minor).. but I'm still not a fan of the power supply being on the bottom...

    Or this one:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883227268 $1.059 total
Again.. power supply on the bottom.. (and holy f'ing ugly...)

    [Edit: Found some more~]

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...103&CatId=5138 $820 total
Would need a power supply though.

    Or this one:
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...886&CatId=4928 $900 total
Basically same thing with a little bit better power supply..Probably could get a better one for the $80 difference..but maybe this would be enough? Not sure what the bare minimum would be.

Downgrades.. but no uber chunk of taxes..
Wish I knew how to build.. so I wouldn't have to do this whole 'give and take' bullshit..lol

Just want to keep my options open. Sorry to keep bugging you guys with PC 101 crap..
Deciding by tonight at the latest.. lol. Then I won't bother you anymore, I promise!

OK before you watch those CPU rankings (I'm using this site as well btw ) you should know the main difference between an i5 and an i7:

    1. Hyperthreading
    2. Triple-Channel

A CPU using Hyperthreading is basically pretending to have 8 cores instead of 4. This does not double the speed (as it is only pretending to have 8) but it's faster as without. The issue is: you want the PC for gaming - and for gaming the difference between a CPU with and without Hyperthreading is minimal. See this for example:

    http://www.pcgameshardware.de/screen...0616144752.jpg

About Triple-Channel: A usual Motherboard (up till now) is able to access 2 RAM-bars (Dual-Channel). The i7-CPUs are the first that are able to access 3 at a time. However, that only counts for the i7-9xx CPUs, the i7-8xx don't have it anyways. (as your only i7 was an 860 this is unimportant for you anyways >_>)

The scores of the processors on that page are affected by Hyperthreading, your gaming performance probably won't ^^

I think I'd still go with the 460 PC, but if you really don't want to take one of these 4 I'd buy the first. The last 2 only carry a 5750 which is (if you check the GPU ranking on cpubenchmark.net) way below the cards from the other 2. The second one comes with an AMD 6-core and a 5830 while the first one has an AMD 4-core and a 5870. The first one seems the better combination to me - and at a later point you can replace the CPU without much problems and get a nice 6-core CPU for <200$ if you feel like it.

btw. you got a PM lol

The 460 plays the game pretty well despite having low scores on the benchmark but it doesn't play the game perfectly (slows down around groups of people and in town). If I could afford a 5850 or especially a 5870 I would get one of those.
