Gah, I'm really hoping there's a full keyboard option so I don't have to hit spacebar or / before I type. I know it's a minor nitpick but I for life of me cannot get used to hitting either before I type.

Might happen, another thing that would be less unbelievably stupid is if I could repair my stuff without switching classes. If I have enough skill to repair why do I need to switch classes?... that might make more sense than SE as a company can comprehend. Also being able to select repair from the gear screen might make a little to much sense. I just don't see why I need to spend 30min switching classes to repair my gear, then another 2min switching back to my main class. Also watching the repair animation is pointless and a waste of animation but mostly of my time. Either say I failed but there's a chance I can fix it or say there's no hope go level your DOH more. Extremely bad design with pointless time sinks, I don't need to take forever to switch class per item and then spam repair until it actually works and then waste more time watching a stupid animation that doesn't give me skillups or anything that makes it seem remotely worth the time it takes to watch. /endmildnerdrage
@Biggie
That's really insulting if it's now really bonus skill.
Should I bother going to Ul'Dah for a higher rank shield or should I just get a maple one out of these bazaars for 25k that I'm seeing?
See, I got surplus at rank 14 in beta3, as did several other people I asked. I thought they were adjusting the thresholds during open beta, or did they say they were "looking at adjusting it"?
Because all it seems they've done is just lower the amount of skill you get drastically so people aren't hitting what seems to be a pretty similar value as quickly.
That being said, at least the surplus decay system seems to be working!
I'm close to 12 on thaum, but I've been leveling pug6, lancer6, conj7. Interested in seeing if I'll hit surplus at 13-14 as well and if playing other classes does indeed let surplus cool down. Problem is I think surplus resets on Mondays right? Means I'd have to grind tonight away, and that's sorta impossible since I have work in 30 mins.
Did they say they weren't releasing chocobos with retail? I really hope they do... anima doesn't regen fast enough to get around. You're better off just staying with one city than running to others. Or at least boost anima regen rate the more you run around. Running from city to city to check leve rewards for new gear is just a pain in the ass. Also with the rate at which you gain guild marks now vs the cost of a new skill via guild marks, your starting city based on the local guilds is pretty pointless. It's not like Beta 3 where you could get a skill every leve cool down when they only cost 500 points. My last guild mark reward was 880 thaum marks I think, and with a 5000 point price tag it'll take a while to get enough marks. Not really complaining, I think they should be a bit more difficult than beta 3 to get, but I was looking forward to getting the convert stat X to stat Y so I could play melee and mage without reassigning points a ton.
Really? I don't remember ever sending an initial tell to anyone I have talked to. I have always just used Ctrl+r to reply to them I thought. I will have to check again tonight.
I know it has mentioned a few times about the lack of people partying but I am even more surprised at the lack of people talking in general. I have asked a few general questions in /say and gotten 0 responses. My assumption is that text is easilly missed when text from NPCs comes up in the middle but also spams your text box.
I really hope they implement the ability to create additional text boxes so I can split tell/linkshell/party to another box etc.
It's official... The FINALLY fixed cure hate.. Only took 3 phases and open beta.
This is fun... Internet died, so both me and my husband are still 'in the game' according to the others in the party, but we had to restart the clients to log back in again and hitting the can't connect to lobby... Been about 10 minutes now.
What about archer hate?
Quick question: When checking for updates via client, sometimes the color of the updater turns red. Does that indicate a type of update or something?
Red = Boot = Launcher/Updater itself (sorta POL Update)
Blue = Game
