How do you see what you can craft. For example when you do a leve it says "you have learned how to do x" But I don't have a list on what I can do. Is it like FF11 where you just randomly craft something and hope it works? Or can you actually see a list of what you've learned somewhere.

Whatever lists they may have planned for the future, it will be implemented in beta phase 5.

Now they tell you the recipe in the chat box, but its not listed anywhere.

So, I'm assuming there's no info on getting started with Blacksmithing any where, huh?

Every forum I went to is empty. There are no blogs or guides on getting started, nothing. I looked up a recipee list, but it seems unless I want to dump tens of thousands of gil into making a really crappy item, I can't do it. I also can't make basic stuff like Nuggets or Ingots without guildmarks, which I can't find any info on how to obtain other than "Do guildleves", which I can't do because obviously they have a cap of 8/48 hours.

So... does that mean Blacksmithing is pretty much impossible to take up as a side job unless you want to pour TONS of gil, or all of your guildleves into it? Or am I missing something? I'd like to try out some crafting, but every craft I'm even remotely interested in seems to have a high bar of entry.

With no economy the first steps are going to be painful. Either you pioneer the craft and deal with inconveniences like "no one sells what you need" or wait for someone else to pave the road for you and have a much easier time with it.

Is there any way to sort the inventory?

put items in bazzar (in order you want the items from top to bottom) -> take out of bazaar-> repeat until all items sorted.

Can be done with a retainer also but may be slower.

A single bronze nugget (from NPC for like 600?) makes something - I did that for some skill ups, but I didn't go very far with it.

It's a simple goldsmithing item and you can buy them from an NPC in Ul'dah that sells a bunch of jewelry. Copper Rings, right? Not hard to come across 4 of something that you're skilling a craft on.

Anyway, it seems partyplay is pretty much the same, exp-wise? I guess they haven't added the new perks to help encourage it yet. I'm tired of all of this anti-social soloing crap, with lots of people and no talking.

They really need to get party grinding going. Right now the only viable way to get exp past R10 is grinding solo and boy is it boring as hell. FFXI was so much more fun to grind in.

Anyone know how to color sheep leather? I have a recipe for sheepskin mitts (1 circle of slate grey sheep leather, 1 sheep leather spetch, 1 mole sinew cord) and as I'd feared, a normal sheep leather doesn't work.

It has been brought up many times that you can avoid certain enemy abilities (like the marmot TP move) by stepping to the side or something, how exactly do you do that? Like do you have to unlock your target and run 2 miles to the side or what? Because when I'm fighting (and locked to the target), it doesn't seem to work if you just move to the side of the mob when the ability is loading/being launched, as the mob just turns my way and launches it's move without any problems.

So is there a certain timing or such on this? Stupid question and it might just be me sucking for many various reasons but I've tried it like fucking many times and never succeeded.. and yeah I've tried it just on the abilities that have been mentioned here.

This makes it so the marmots cannot activate their WS, and puks always miss when they use theirs (it doesn't say miss, it merely doesn't show up at all in the log and you don't receive damage, he does the animation but nothing happens).

i know its been asked but i must overlooked it how do you toggle on AOE on and off?

Yeah I was just experimenting with that and the best way to avoid being hit by certain abilities seems to be keeping on moving constantly, but it seems to be impossible to avoid one if you stand still and wait for the "cast" animation to show up, there needs to be some prediction. Or then I might just suck at it. But yeah I've avoided many Somersault Slashes (or w/e the marmot move was) now by trying to face their hairy ass most of the time.

NPC in Ul'dah sells them for 6.6k~ each. Goldsmithing synth you need R3 or R4 to attempt but it's still giving me shit at R12. Recipe's 2x Copper Nuggets (200g each) and some wind/fire shards.
