We see the same kind of OBVIOUSLY broken shit everywhere in FFXIV. Why does SE always need a player to tell them how badly they fucked something up? It's like they don't even think these things through, let alone test them once implemented! It makes me so angry when they waste time making systems like BR that are so fundamentally flawed that they will never ever work in their current forms. There is no time to be dicking around with setting up BRs during combat and even if there was, why would you ever design a system that requires you to stop fighting? This shit is mind blowing! And don't get me even started on the market wards... ugh, it's like these guys have zero ability to predict how well that's going to work in retail because otherwise they wouldn't even try it.
My gripe with FFXIV isn't that it's incomplete, my problem with it is that SE clearly has no idea whatsoever of what they're doing. Perhaps they'll get this stuff right once we've cried long and hard enough, but why does it always have to come to that? Can't they design anything that works well from the get go? Heck, in FFXIV we even have systems that are identical to similar systems in FFXI except just plain worse. Not "different", just plain worse! The /tell system, the LS system, inventory sorting and controls (hello F8, <stnpc>, <stpc> and F1-6!) are just some off the top of my head.
