Do you need to be a certain rank to repair? I could repair my Rank 1 bow no problem, but when I try to repair the Rank 8 bow I bought in Gridania, it tells me "You are unable to repair the Maple Longbow", and consumes the branch. Maybe I need to be higher level Carpenter to repair anything above the starter bow?
those options most likely show when you are crafting the specified item.
Blinding speed
Temporarily increases rate of success for rapid syntheses. Most effective for mass production.
Probably won't show unless your making an item thats like.. belt buckle 12 stack things.
Epiphany
Increases chance for improved craftsmanship of next synthesis. most effective for parts.
Probably won't show unless your crafting a band of a ring etc.
when it does show it will be at the "bottom" of your craft list
standard
rapid
bold
wait
scroll down the list
Blinding speed
Epiphany
etc etc
the chat box doesn't expand to show them, you have to scroll down the list (the side of the tiny window will have a scroll bar when an ability is available)
also note the abilities are not "just spammmable" they go on off at random, but its best to use whenever to "force change" element.
Game's down for maint, right?
Aye, for 4 hours.
yep, 3 hours
I wish you could do more leves. Gridania is annoying as fuck but it definitely added variety. And I was able hit "bonus" on Miner because of the leve reset yesterday. And I've blown through almost all my anima already, need to add some way to get more faster than whatever the replenish rate is.
Why warp to Bentbranch? It's just over there a bit. That's a waste IMO.
The best way to get more leve for your buck is to party. 8 leves times 6 people is a fuckton of leves. Also take up at least 3 crafts so you can do the 8 Craft leves as well.
Hopefully they add chocobos and anima wont' be the standard to get around anymore. Little concerned about airships though... I've found the two docks out in the LL region, but one's north of skull valley and the other north of bloodshore I believe. I'm hoping we don't have to run out there to use an airship. That's just a pain in the ass. Also hoping they add chocobos to camps too. I'm sure they won't, at least not right away, but I like to dream.
Really hope they have a search function implemented for retainers at release. I don't even bother going to the market wards because 90% of what people are selling is crap. No, I don't want your dodo tenderloin, or your hides, or gridania walnuts, or marmot pelts, or saltmoor leeks, or moko grass. Just want to find some damn gear or weapons, though at release I'll probably just craft my own.
^ this. Oh god this. I've been avoiding the Market Wards like the plague lately. You think it was bad in Closed Beta..? Its like ten times worse now. They need to figure out what they want to do with that system and fast. Shopping in-game should not make me feel like I'm in Shenzhen's with no store signs. ><;
well I ment like.. some abilities.. you can use over and over and over again before it "disappears off the menu" to keep changing the element. its what I call cheating on crafting
in my opinion.. spamming the ability to get a 'stable craft orb" is much better then actually having the buffs. I did the thing in beta 3 to spam bold craft on an item (max quality 300%)
Gulk, maybe you can clear this up for me.
Does the time remaining percentage when you choose "standard,Rapid,Bold" have an effect on the success?
I don't know if this is all in my head or if anyone else has noticed a similar trend, but I've noticed occasionally that waiting for the timer to tick down to 90, 75, 66, 50, etc percent will result in a success and if you wait for that same percentage for the next 2-3 attempts it seems like you have a higher chance of success (similar to hitting the same spot with some of the gathering classes). This could EASILY be dumb luck or coincidence, but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similar.
It's basically like XI, except everyone has an NPC that sits in the walmart zone, and instead of one zone there are three. Duno how they thought this would be a good idea. They should just turn the AH into a 'retainer house". You look up the item you want, and it'll list any retainers that are selling that item and for what price. You like the price? Then buy it right then and there. I really can't see myself running to the market wards to search over every retainer for the item I need. Also, I can't see them organizing retainers by just weapons/armor/materials/etc since you only have ONE retainer unless you want to pay more $$ a month. No one will want to have their retainer sell only one type of good. I also can't see them scrapping the retainer system right now since they made like 8 market ward zones per city for retainers to be in. I duno what the hell they're going to do with it, but the economy will SUCK until they organize it somehow.
