Thats the biggest thing we as English speakers need to understand. It's not just us that are being ignored here. Japanese tester feedback is being ignored just as much as ours. They complained about combat, UI, mob placement, crashing, disconnects, retainers, lack of an auction house, and much more. Just the same as we have. Tanaka and company have just ignored it all. They think their shit doesn't stink and that its "their game". This is not an independent film, where its about the "art". This is a fricking video game. You don't make "your game" and hope people appreciate it. You make a game for the players, not for yourself.
They haven't fixed this yet and it was one of the TOP 5 complaints in the game since Alpha. The game client is FAR from the stability they should be shipping it with. Toss in the poor server connectivity that is rampant. (Who here is always in the green? I sit in low yellow high red 90% of the time.) If they wish guildleves to be the major way for a person to level up, they need to fix this NOW. If you are a casual player, shit like this will make you cancel your sub faster than you can say "Fuck!" With the 8/48 limitations, if you crash or dc out of a single leve, you are vastly limiting the amount of fun a player can have during a week. An average of 20 battleleve's to do per week and you lose a few to this crap? Yeah not a happy camper you will be.
This for sure. When I heard that they were keeping linkshells in the game I was like "Oh goodie, no need to fuck with a good thing!" and of course... they have to fuck with it just a little bit don't they? =p just enough to piss off any FFXI fans.
Just give me that sexy pearl back baby, and fuck these lame ass attempts at a more European ass clown guild crest pos. It just feels like the kind of crap some real hardcore role-playing tard would love, you know to go with his characters backstory >.>
Unless we're assuming this only applies to gathering, in which case you can disregard...I have my elements spread exactly even. I capped out on earth shards, was near cap with fire shards, 710 ice, 173 wind and 149 water. This is mostly killing around Gridania with a little near Uldah. I'd assume shards depend on which mobs you kill.

I'm trying to accept a levequest, but it says my regional levequests are at 8/8 and won't let me accept it. They're all completed however. Is this what I have to wait 48 hours for?
I havent allocated any of my elemental points yet, only because I don't know what they do other than resistances and want to test things. The THM starter weapon deals 40% fire damage... so I do plan on stacking fire to see if I notice any damage difference.
And most of those things have received changes. Not always for the better, sadly, but it is evident that they are trying.
Combat wasn't changed? UI wasn't changed? Mob placement wasn't changed? They haven't dealt with crashes before, haven't stabilized the servers?
They've basically done almost nothing to retainers since P1, does this mean they're not listening and aren't even working on it, or that whatever they have planned is not ready to be implemented? Come on.
Was Alpha unstable? From what I remember, these errors appeared with beta phase 1, got fixed for the most part, then reappeared again in P3 and now in OB.They haven't fixed this yet and it was one of the TOP 5 complaints in the game since Alpha.
Criticize them for what they need to be criticized for, not this childish nonsense.
All my points are in water and I only get water when I fish.
I'd say it sounds pretty solid that if you want a certain shard to dump a bunch into that element. I'm curious of about the threshold of when that starts. If you are looking for 2 different types of shards do the values have to be equal or within say 5 points of each other and then you start getting both but it leans toward the higher number. If you have one element that has at least 1 point more than the next highest then it will always be that one?
From what I seen in my own experience, I feel confident I can control the shards I get during gathering when I only want a single type but often times crafts require multiple flavors and if you want to farm for crafting then we get back into the point allotment discussion and how great/shitty it is.
I used to get wind/fire/earth as well, before I dumped my points all into one.
