About the mess of leves; you can do 8 total leves from Batle + Field (gathering) and apart you can do 8 craft ones. No matter how many of them are in the same camp, you can do all them. I think you guys are confusing Field and Local leves.
No, I've partied wit ha group of 5, and everyone got exp and skill points.
This is not true. My very first day of playing I did 4 Battle leves at Black Brush, 4 Gathering leves at Black Brush, and 8 Craft leves at Black Brush. So you are NOT limited to 8 per camp.
No, you can't. Its one of the first things I tried. I did 8 Regional and 8 Local leves in Ul'dah, then took the boat over to Limsa Lominsa. Guys at both counters told me I had no available Leves. I was quite disappointed![]()
You can do it in 1 macro if you only have 9 abilities per class:
/equip main "bow"
/eaction 2 "ability1"
/eaction 3 "ability2"
/eaction 4 ""
/eaction 5 ""
...
When you get new abilities, just add it's name after the macro for that line. As soon as you start getting more than 9 abilities you need 2 macros though. You can create a set of 3 "blanking" macros if desired that just call /eaction x "" on every single value from x=1 to x=30.
Sometimes if you trigger certain actions before the macro finishes executing, all commands that didn't get triggered never will. Alternatively, it can take up to 5-10 seconds after changing your abilities for them to show up in your action bar, so if you change classes and bring up your action bar right away, it will show you the wrong ones.
that could be good news uzor. that applies for open beta right? and everyone got in your 5 person group got skill on the same mob right?
how were the numbers? about everyone the same? how many mobs did you fight? was the exp constant about the same?
I was getting around 300-500 tanking, and they got between 100-500. The exp was always the same though.
We did notice exp not showing up in the chat log occasionally, which is something I've noticed while soloing too - but it was still added to the total exp/skill when looking at the exp bar, something I had to do every other fight. Mine showed up the least![]()
Something cool just happened when doing lvl10 Leves in La Noscea, the levemob fled and led me to a cavern with guess what mobs? That's right, WOLVES. Thought that shit'd be Gridania only, but now here too. Mind blowing. D:
And why does it always have to be the goddamn wolves.. I think we've, okay at least I've, found the most hated mob family for the game.
Edit: Okay LOL they were someone's levemobs, should probably check things out before I start ripping myself a new asshole and writing emo posts in here, but after all I've been trough with the fucking wolves this should be nothin but understandable.
yeah the part about not showing up in chatlog we knew already and thats the reason we compare amount of skill points pre and after fight always.
anyway, than we happen to have bad luck about our bug becauswe we always have the problem that at least 1 person is not getting skills after fight even though skill ups were show while fighting....
edit: what was the setup, what was the party members class level and where did you level and what did you fight?
Just to note, I believe everyone in the group has to hit a mob at least once to get the phys xp for it. Past that the sp is the usual random gains on hit/damage.
Grouping in it's current state is largely just soloing alongside friends, perhaps with some slightly harder mobs :X I could go for sp gains being tallied for the entire group, hit with a multiplier based on group size, and then split evenly. That would make sense, and not really diverge from their base sp system.
I literally was not getting any exp after some fights in a party (and sometimes other members wouldn't when I did), checking actual exp before and after a fight. From what I saw, and I have no idea if this is correct, but it seemed like n-1 people in the party would get exp. I often saw 2 people getting exp in a 3 person party (sometimes 1, when 2 people legitimately got no exp for a quick fight). I never saw all 3 of us get class exp (we all get physical exp every fight though). When I was in a party of 4 or 5, I distinctly remember seeing at least 3 different people getting class exp.
It's a bug. It's been happening since Beta 1-2. Back then the only way to fix it was to relog. Now, it seems to randomly go and come back as it pleases. Pretty annoying when you finally do get some decent gains and don't see it after the battle or reflected in status.
Edit: For regular exp.. You dont have to hit the mob just be nearby.
It might just be that I'm a retard and can't figure it out but what's the deal with Battle Regimen randomly activating when I don't intend to? I'm positive I did NOT press G.
Died several times because of that, since I couldn't cure myself.
Also, anyone figure out how to use it effectively in a party so far? I occasionally pull it off (and the result is just synced attacks that seem to have no benefits) but most of the time it just fails and recharges.
You probably moved your icon left from the "1" attack and hit it. That's how I've done it by accident.
If you're looking for party benefits from it, you won't find any. Its slow to engage, it doesn't always land on the mob, and even if it does land, the "bonus" shares the same type of duration as a regular debuff, so at best you're looking at about 12 seconds of a debuff, and at worse, you're looking at about 3 seconds.
For all the time it takes for your melee to stand still and do nothing until it starts, you could be beating up the mob normally. At this point in time, its worthless to have a "follow-the-leader"-esque chain system that freezes everyone in place who is involved with it while enemies are constantly beating on them. Couple in the pitiful defense that the average tank has and you're more likely to see people dead as a result of using it than the enemy dead.
