I was keyboard only for ffxi. Now I can't imagine playing XIV without my ps3 controller. If they had just recycled ffxi's controls/arrow cameras? Yeah, wouldn't be using the controller.

I'm intending to revisit the Sixaxis BT stuffs once this comes out. Still using a PS2 adapter on one PC and a 360 receiver on the other.
Lv20 Quick Nock got the buff! Fuck yes. lol
Hits/Arrows - Down from 8 to 6.
Damage - increased.
Stam cost - halved.
TP cost - Still 2000.
Doing 500+ damage to these Lv20ish exp puks. Always using Hawkeye's before it. XD
Need a faster way to check these hordes of retainers, /browse work? or a macro?
Whats funny is I when I played Warhammer online, I never used a mouse for like 3 months since I played on a laptop. People heard that I never used a mouse and were 'lol how do you play this game?'. Hooked up a mouse and found that I could zoom in and out, making the game sooooo much easier to play. Too bad WAR sucked and the developers worked on releasing an expansion before fixing the end game they already had that was incredibly broke.
This might have been mentioned before, but is anyone else upset with the overall lack of Lancer favored gear, particularly body pieces? I'm rank 12 and I've still got my starting Acton on. Of course I could wear anything for fashion purposes, but then my stats would suffer. I've managed to find gear for other slots that favored any class, but when it comes to a body piece, I can't seem to find anything that would benefit Lancer.
You're a few pages late, but that's why idiots are complaining that mages are "4 casuals" already. Its just terrible design by SE, and wasn't like this in Alpha. I doubt it'll remain as such by retail, but if it does, I'm sticking with mages for quite some time.
For those looking for dyes, the insects for them are found via Spearfishing in various Grade-2+ waters. I've found 3 or so different varieties of them in both The Black Shroud and La Noscea.
Anybody else think the entire reason they implemented level sync with the scaling down of equipment in ffxi was to test the armor system for xiv? :3
Think about MMM crafting quests as well.
I really don't like that any job/rank can wear any armor. You should be able to somewhat recognize what class and how awesome someone is by looking at them.
Not really. This system is 10x more lame. Being able to equip anything at any level just takes all the reward out of actually reaching those new heights. Armor was so shit in the early levels of FFXI, getting to 60 was almost as good as 75 just because you finally got to wear something decent (melees meet mr.hauby +1). Being able to wear a KO on bst from level 1 even if it only gave +1 to stats would have been super lame.
Of course this is only beta. I suspect there will be quite a bit more optimal gear for each class staggered nicely every 4-6 levels in the retail release, and wearing higher level stuff would just make you look like a dork.
If anything, they need to make wearing the wrong class/rank equipment on par with being naked so people don't just wear their other class' shit when leveling their "subs."
The way OB is currently running, Lancer is supposed to still be using the starter body at level 20+. Awesome.
From what I've experienced so far in FFXIV, wearing higher level armor that has been scaled down is FAR, far worse than wearing something optimal or slightly below your level.
That's correct. Its going to be another system of carrying loads of gear around if left as is. That alone should make all the FFXIers around here giddy with excitement.
