Obvious isn't obvious on BG. Also if it's not, then what is it SE's hidden hardware mouse code they've been eating bad press on cause they wanted to WOW people for doing something as simple as having a hardware mouse? (Far-fetched)

Who really downloads and runs any kind of patch/code without realizing it couldn't potentially screw things up.

SE isn't giving us any option to choose whatsoever. If we're gonna be stuck with something, I think it's better to be stuck with a usable interface rather than having software mouse forced down our throats.

Same people who click flashing ads that they won money or people who click your sig. Just a precaution to stop people who get errors and can't identify why. Also because of the cryptic nature of beta errors this will also help prevent them from spamming the forums with HALP!!! topics.

    lol

Yes, not yet. I'm just saying why I think they haven't enabled it already.

"Hey lets eat bad press for a couple months and then not fix it till release is on the market"...? Very bizarre rationale or maybe it's like the transition from Alpha to Beta, which would make this even more ridiculous.

They have already made the decision that is honestly going to give them more than enough bad press, it's not unlikely.

Plus, if it's ready for release then whatever.

It's funny that the SE Defense Force comes through the woodwork again and is for some reason annoyed that a solution was found for this hilarious problem.

"Blarhghaghagllarghl you shouldn't do this Square Enix WANTED this game to lack something every other PC game has!"

    Herp, meet derp.

Just to be clear, my post about SE losing face wasn't an SE Def post. I think its hilarious that another community member is taking things into their own hands and fixing SE mistakes. How embarrassing for the company and the ones in charge of designing/producing the game.

Are every single one of your posts for pointing out the SE Defense Force?
Because it's more irritating than they are.

Anyway, will definitely be giving this fix a try, I hate software mouse in any game.

Thank god Cliff is still around. Let's hope he works on a patch that can survive updates.

I wonder if it's possible to unlock the arrow keys, because that still irritates me.

QFT, I wanted to quit the game right when I seen that they added a keyboard configuration menu, but won't allow you to put the camera on the arrow keys. WHAT THE FUCK TANAKA

Yes, they are -- and I'm glad it's working. I don't take part in discussions, but I love making fun of these fanboys that hopelessly defend a developer that makes completely illogical design choices with an absence of coherent explanation for them.

    You sound mad.

On a note about control improvements -- the ability menu definitely needs some mouse-friendly modifications. Apparently Drag & Drop is unheard of Japanese game development. Selecting an ability, then hitting "add to Main Hand", then clicking on my desired place on the ability bar could all be simplified with me dragging Haymaker to the fuckin' third spot on my ability bar.

Again, an illogical design choice for the PC platform. It's incredibly obvious that what I'm forced to do when I feel like switching around abilities is meant for nothing but a controller.

I think the mouse patch is great, but I do seem to have a slight issue with it. I mostly use a PS2 controller and normally the cursor disappears when I hit a button. With the hardware mouse patch, the cursor doesn't go away so I have to hide it in the corner. Is everyone else having this issue? Regardless, it's still definitely worth having a hardware mouse.

Damn, it is not often that trolls actually admit they are being trolls, but here we have it.

And he is actually getting attention, not bad.

    He's a 1/10 at best.

Gave the hardware mouse a go, so much nicer, goddamn.
