Only (other) downside are the worse looking cursors.

the game feels 10x better already
Yall couldnt wait till retail when SE would implement it?
the game went from unbearable to play to almost worthy of spending money on. almost...
I think a majority are misinterpreting the situation. The software mouse was implemented purposefully, the hardware mouse is simply a 'fall back' or a 'default' which is used when the software mouse is not enabled. The hardware mouse therefore isn't 'enabled' it's more like the software mouse is disabled. That having been said, assuming SE will 'disable' the software mouse upon release is a bit wishful thinking, they obviously have a reason for the software mouse being enabled on top of everything and like I said, this is 'disabling the software mouse' not 'enabling a hardware mouse'.
If you alt tab fast enough it is almost just as good as having a hardware mouse in game right?
did a major shift at work today 16hrs. finally got a chance to use this. only reply is, wow. tyvm cliff!
fixed my only problem i had with the game.
Like I said before, theirs probably a reason (whoever thinks its for bots... has no clue how bots work) that its probably due to the memory leak FFXIV has.
Or just a guess of it, as it seems to grow faster ( FFXIV 3 hours 600-700MB software mouse, 1.2GB with hardware mouse) over time. Its a 1 time test though not multiple so... maybe another day I'll compare to see what happens.
FFXIV goes to around 2GB at 9-10 hours and crashes on itself (if it hasn't crashed on something else earlier. seems to be its run time limit) You don't get this issue if you sit 1 spot with no one running by however!
game run at everything maxed quality 8msaa 1280x1024 highest shadow etc etc everything but ambient occlusion in both tests
So the 12GB I was planning to get with my i7 build won't be overkill. Good to know. ;x
Does anybody else feel that if this game were released in 2006, it'd be killer but because it's 2010, it's just not cutting the mold. I don't know why but I just feel like the game is dated already. Maybe it feels too much like FFXI to me.
EDIT: Cutting the mold? Sorry, no idea where I came up with that.
I dunno why 2006 makes any difference to 2010. The whole genre is shit and has been shit for a long time. MMO's fail because they are shitty for different reasons.
To me, the game just feels unfinished, which it is. Yeah, every feature is there but every feature also needs work.
Well by common sense I mean that in all SE games it has it, and with everyone complaining, theyre bound to add it. It's typical SE common sense to say 'no never' and then do it the next update. With the code being in the software atm, it's only a matter of time.
