Hey all. Got a question that I hope you can answer. I have been overclocking my computer for the past few months, smooth sailing. Just as a FYI, I will post my computer specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-DS3L
CPU: Intel; Core 2 Quad q6600 @ 2.4 Ghz (OC'ed to 3.0 Ghz)
GPU: Raedon 5850 1 GB
PSU : Antec 650W
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Now I have been running with these settings for a while without any problems. When I booted up this morning, I decided to go into BIOS and take a peek at the CPU configuration screen. It shows me a red box where it says it reset the CPU to normal due to overclock issues. Even if it shows as overclocked in BIOS, when I run dxdiag or my processor is shown as 2.4Ghz. When I try again to overclock it through BIOS, I save and exit, it takes me through the mobo logo screen, blacks out and shuts down, followed by it starting up by itself. It then proceeds to boot up to Windows with the 2.4 Ghz setting. No matter how many times I try, I can't get it to boot up with the OC anymore. Could anyone outline the problem? Thank you.
