Honestly, if you want to boost reputation, sell normal items at ~106%. In the long run you will make more money.

I beat my first playthrough last night. I got Louie's true card, which while I was using him I was happy about because I don't really like using Caillou, Tielle, or Charme at all. But then I got Elan and was sadface when I knew I wouldn't be able to play him enough to get his card.
I found the jewgirl will even buy really expensive items later on if they're high price. I was constantly selling her items that were 15k at base value, and marking them up to 225% and she would still buy them from me.
But she's like a super jew if she wants to buy something that is on low price.
