In an interview they did say they aren't just gonna have 1 hero/1 villain new from each game this time around. But we probably still won't get too many FF12 people.

Vaan's FFTA2 outfit looks pretty decent. Hopefully they'll give him that as second costume instead of a plette swap of his horrible FFXII clothes.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was hoping for but it seems they're gonna be just as lazy as they were with the original for most characters. I hope I eat those words and they do give every character alternates that aren't just recolours though, especially when the designs for other outfits already exist.

I want to see Cid there (Balthier's dad). He was seriously one of my favorite characters in the entire game. Fucking epic voice actor he had too.

lol.. Vaan look like he bulked up for Dissidia.. I kinda liked him as a character but I definitely like Ashe more..
His "Another" costume isn't just a palatte swap of sorts, but apparently based on his amano design. Hopefully the 3rd form will be the TA2 one with the crisp shirt.

More sword users lol.. I'm still holding up for Ashe.. since they did say they'd add more characters and its not just 1 to 1 tie ins per game. XII also started off with 1 only so having 2 might work.. I don't know.

I was hoping XII's representative would have more of a relationship with Gabranth. Basically, any character other than Vaan or Penelo would have been a good choice. Even Larsa.

Can someone explain to me why this is a prequel....(I mean i know chaos and cosmos are dead in dissidia) It's just strange to me that a prequel would have characters from newer series and it kinda makes gabranth's and shantoto's entrance into dissidia also not make sense if they were in dissidia...idk, maybe i'm just overthinking things?

i'm still rooting for a surprised balthier appearance though.

Did you pay attention to the story at all? They're basically stuck in a time loop. The reason there's new characters now is because this is set in an earlier loop than the first Dissidia and they've died(?) between this game and the first Dissidia.

No i know it's a timeloop, i mean that's pretty much the whole underlying theme of the game. it's just strange to me because the new characters in the past are from more recent series. If they do die (or get ported back home) then it'll make sense in a way i guess. Honestly if they somehow brought back cosmos and chaos somehow (maybe if they both don't exist they repop? lol) and made this a sequel it'd make more sense. oh well.

Or was the "you used to fight on the other team" thing the others tell him in Dissidia refer to a different loop before this one?

Who cares if they are from more recent games? The FF series has no connection from one game to another so as far as they are concerned there is no timeline they would be breaking.

Sure he doesn't have storyline relevance in FFXII but he has Pyroclasm and that's all he needs to be boss. Fuck the haters.

Actually, the only thing that disappoints me about this is that he has a sword in his hand in those pics. Already so many sword users in Dissidia and they quite literally could have had him use ANYTHING since he isn't restricted to a single weapon type due to the license board system in FFXII.
